Job Description

Role Summary
Join our team as Assistant Director of Wellbeing  supports the Director of Wellbeing in leading the strategic, financial, and operational performance of the  Wellness and Fitness  department. This role has primary responsibility for the consistent execution of daily operations, team leadership, scheduling, guest and member experience, service quality, retail performance, and administrative controls. The Assistant Director serves as the department leader in the Director's absence and works closely with resort leaders to deliver a seamless luxury experience while achieving revenue, profitability, and engagement.


 As part of the Auberge family, we are looking for a dynamic facilities leader, who can manage budgets and capital funds, expenditure projects, preventative maintenance and energy conservation and have an eye for maintaining the highest of luxury standards in product finishes, timely and efficient remediations, standards and regulatory requirements.

Leadership and Daily Operations

  • Provide visible, hands-on leadership throughout the Spa & Fitness, maintaining a consistent presence in guest and team areas and ensuring that daily operations reflect luxury service standards.
  • Direct day-to-day spa operations, including front desk,, provider operations, spa attendants, housekeeping support,  fitness programming, retail, and related guest services.
  • Assume the responsibilities of the Director of Wellbeing in the Director’s absence and promptly elevate significant operational, guest, safety, financial, or team member matters.
  • Partner with the Director to implement departmental strategy, policies, annual priorities, service initiatives, and continuous operational improvements.
  • Participate as an active member of the resort management team, including daily and weekly meetings, cross-departmental planning, and Manager on Duty shifts as assigned.
  • Maintain current Spa policies and procedures and reinforce company standards consistently and fairly.
  • Develop and oversee a sophisticated, innovative fitness and movement programming aligned with the Resorts luxury wellness positioning 

Guest and Member Experience

  • Ensure guest, member and residences needs are anticipated and addressed courteously, promptly, and thoughtfully at every stage of the experience.
  • Coach the team to act as caring problem solvers who are cooperative, accommodating, professional, and accountable.
  • Monitor service quality through observation, role-playing, training, audits, and guest feedback; lead timely service recovery when expectations are not met.
  • Build relationships with members and repeat guests, support membership tours and inquiries, and assist with account questions, requests, renewals, upgrades, and retention efforts.
  • Coordinate spa services and fitness programs for groups, special events, retreats, and property activations in partnership with resort departments

Team Leadership and Development

  • Support recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, coaching, performance management, and professional development across Spa and Wellness roles.
  • Directly manage designated operational teams, including Front Desk , and partner with department leads to support providers, spa attendants, housekeeping, fitness, and retail operations.
  • Set clear expectations, provide timely feedback, recognize strong performance, and address conduct, attendance, service, and performance concerns in accordance with company policy.
  • Ensure team members have the supplies, equipment, uniforms, information, and training required to perform their roles safely and effectively.
  • Promote a respectful, collaborative, and solutions-oriented work environment that supports engagement, accountability, and retention 

Financial Performance and Revenue

  • Understand how departmental operations affect property financial goals and manage daily activities to achieve or exceed budgeted revenue, labor, expense, retail, and profitability targets.
  • Support and manage the fitness department budget while  monitoring departmental performance and key business metrics fitness/wellbeing.   
  • Manage provider, front desk, attendant, and operational schedules to maximize booking opportunities, treatment room use, service availability, and labor productivity.
  • Review daily business levels and adjust schedules, availability, and operating plans to improve revenue while controlling labor and other expenses.
  • Support treatment, retail, membership, wellness program, and group sales through knowledgeable recommendations, effective merchandising, inventory availability, and team coaching.
  • Assist the Director with budgeting, forecasting, reporting, expense review, capital planning, purchasing, and performance analysis.
  • Monitor supplies, equipment, product inventory, loss prevention, and vendor services to maintain appropriate controls and achieve the best value for the company.

Spa Programming and Business Development

  • Support the development and ongoing refinement of treatments, menus, wellness initiatives, and seasonal programming in response to guest needs and industry trends.
  • Help identify opportunities to increase awareness, bookings, fitness  revenue, retail sales, and guest participation while protecting service quality and operational capacity.
  • Maintain productive relationships with practitioners, instructors, suppliers, and business partners and help evaluate performance, compliance, service quality, and value.


The starting range for this position is $95,000-$105.00. This is the pay rate for this position that Stanly Ranch reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience and education.
 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum three years of progressive leadership experience in spa, wellness, luxury hospitality, or a closely related operation, including at least two years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing daily operations, guest service, team member scheduling, training, sales, and expense controls.
  • Working knowledge of spa treatments, reservations, retail, fitness operations/programming, and luxury service standards.
  • Experience maintaining applicable health, safety, sanitation, and licensing requirements.
  • Strong administrative skills, including reporting, budgeting, project coordination, inventory management, and written communication.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree or certification in hospitality, business, spa management, wellness, or a related field.
  • Experience at a luxury hotel, resort, or Forbes-rated property.
  • Experience with spa management, hotel property management, point-of-sale, scheduling, and productivity reporting
  • systems.
  • Proven success in membership, retail, treatment, or wellness program sales.
