Job Description
The General Manager will be responsible for leading a team to drive extraordinary performance in all areas of the hotel operation. This role sets the strategic direction ensuring alignment with our luxury standards and values. Serves as the coach and champion of all team members, attracting new talent, developing their skills, and creates a positive and enriching culture on property. This role is a consummate host – serving as the Ambassador and key spokesperson for the hotel, nurturing relationships with team members, hotel owners and within the community.
Effectively managing the owner relationships on behalf of Auberge, to ensure the owners maintain trust and confidence in our stewardship of their asset.
Oversee the development of the strategy and business plan to deliver our objective of being the best-loved operator of one of a kind luxury hospitality and experiences.
Responsible for initiating, facilitating, and guiding well-designed and creatively curated guest experiences unique to the property through the food & beverage outlets, other amenities, product selection, partner alignment, and space activation.
Develop the recruitment and employment brand strategy to become the employer of choice in the local market
Build a rich culture of trust, pride and joy that will result in a high employee advocacy and team member engagement.
Oversee the creation and successful implementation of the guest experience - Pre-Arrival, Arrival, During The Stay, Departure and Post-Departure to ensure that our guests report the highest levels of personal and customized services.
Ensure that all financial targets are met as well as accurate monthly forecasting
Spearhead the commercial strategy to drive and increase revenue as well as be the sales champion and visible with most influential travel advisors, clients and media
Drive guest engagement and satisfaction with a focus on a Net Promoter Score of greater than 80%
Partner with your Executive leadership team to ensure each department is functioning with the highest standards of excellence
Champion new initiatives and take calculated risks to improve property performance
Actively engage with the local community, businesses, and high society to embed the property and region as a cultural and social landmark.
Qualifications
Minimum of 6+ years experience as a General Manager in a luxury hotel setting, potentially as a Hotel Manager within a luxury hotel within California
Proven record of leading luxury hotels, including staffing, budgeting, operational planning, and community engagement.
Ability to maintain and strengthen relationships with ownership and other key stakeholders.
Experience cultivating relationships with ultra-high-net-worth individuals and discerning global clientele
Demonstrates a savvy approach to business operations, with innovative thinking to address unique challenges
Previous experience managing independently branded luxury hotels in addition to traditional hospitality brands
Strong background in Food & Beverage (F&B) or Sales & Marketing, preferably in Catering and Events.
Exhibits executive thinking and decision-making capabilities with a focus on culture building and team leadership.
Skilled in building and nurturing relationships with all stakeholders, including owners, guests, team members, and the local community.
Demonstrates robust experience in operations, particularly in F&B management.
Agile and solution-oriented, with strong communication skills and the ability to navigate dynamic environments.
Strong involvement with the local community
International exposure that enriches brand positioning.
Ability to create and sustain a culturally relevant luxury environment that resonates with global tastemakers and guests.
Fluency in English required; proficiency in additional languages is helpful, particularly Spanish
This role offers a base salary range of $200,000k to $240,000k annually with an annual incentive, plus a comprehensive medical, dental, vision and voluntary benefits, 401k employer match, employer paid life insurance, employee assistance program and a team member hotel stay program.
