Quality Assurance Lead

  • Full-time

Job Description

  • Quality Assurance Lead – Academy
  • Ventures & Specialty Testing
  • Location – Auckland, Hamilton or Christchurch preferred
  • Fixed term – Full Time

At AsureQuality, we’re committed to growing capability across Aotearoa’s food and primary industries. Our Academy is an NZQA-registered Private Training Establishment (PTE), and we’re looking for a Quality Assurance Lead to help ensure our training continues to be credible, compliant, and centred on positive learner outcomes.

This is a influential role where quality is not a “tick-box” — it’s embedded, lived, and continuously improved.

About the role

Reporting to the Academy Manager, the Quality Assurance Lead is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of quality systems, compliance, and assurance across the Academy. You’ll play a critical role in maintaining regulatory confidence, strengthening industry alignment, and ensuring learners experience high-quality, equitable education that delivers real value.

You’ll work closely with internal teams, regulators, and industry partners to ensure our programmes meet NZQA and wider regulatory requirements — not just at review time, but as business as usual.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Ensuring the Academy operates as a compliant NZQA-registered PTE, with strong quality systems aligned to NZQA, TEC, WDC, MPI and relevant legislation

  • Overseeing enrolment, assessment, moderation, reporting and self-assessment, and leading readiness for external reviews and audits

  • Ensuring training outcomes remain aligned with industry and regulatory expectations through close partnership with delivery teams and external stakeholders

  • Acting as a key point of contact with regulators, industry bodies and partners

  • Supporting positive learner experiences, successful completion, and compliance with the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of Learners

  • Supporting consistent trainer and assessor capability, and championing AsureQuality values and cultural commitments

  • Strengthening systems, processes and documentation to drive continuous improvement, quality and efficiency

  • Supporting financially sustainable PTE operations and contributing to a strong health, safety and wellbeing culture

About you

You’re a confident quality and education professional who understands how regulatory frameworks, learning outcomes, and people come together. You bring credibility, clarity, and calm — especially when navigating complexity.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience working within NZQA or similar accreditation and regulatory frameworks

  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems in an education or certification environment

  • Proven experience in adult education and assessment

  • Excellent written, verbal, and stakeholder communication skills

  • The ability to build trust with regulators, industry partners, and internal teams

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification (education, adult learning, or related field)

  • Experience within primary industries or vocational training environments

  • Established relationships across the tertiary education sector

  • A practical understanding of on-job and workplace-based training models

Why AsureQuality

At AsureQuality, we’re proud of the role we play in supporting food safety, quality, and capability across New Zealand. You’ll be part of an organisation that values integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement — and where your expertise will genuinely shape outcomes.
