Job Description
The Bike Patrol Lead is responsible for overseeing and running daily bike patrol operations under the supervision of the Bike Patrol Director while providing proactive guest interaction throughout the Snowmass Bike Park. This role combines active patrol duties with leadership responsibilities, including coordinating patrol staff, responding to incidents, supporting training efforts, and ensuring high standards of professionalism, customer service, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
- Run and oversee daily Bike Patrol operations under the direction of the Bike Patrol Director.
- Lead and coordinate Bike Patrol personnel during assigned shifts.
- Ensure all shifts are properly staffed and covered, including adjusting schedules and coordinating coverage as operational needs change.
- Assist with scheduling, shift coverage, and operational assignments.
- Conduct routine bicycle patrols of assigned trails to identify safety hazards, policy violations, and operational concerns.
- Provide positive guest engagement, directions, assistance, and customer service to guests.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, accidents, and suspicious activity.
- Serve as the primary field contact for bike patrol team members and assist with shift direction and deployment.
- Monitor team performance and provide coaching, guidance, and corrective feedback when necessary.
- Complete incident reports, activity logs, and daily operational documentation accurately and on time.
- Assist with training and onboarding of new Bike Patrol personnel.
- Ensure patrol equipment, bicycles, radios, and safety gear are maintained and operational.
- Communicate effectively with management, outside agencies, and the public.
- Enforce company policies, property rules, and applicable laws or regulations.
- Support crowd management and special event operations when required.
- Conduct safety inspections and identify environmental or operational risks.
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive public relations presence.
Qualifications
Education & Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 2 years of patrol experience preferred
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license preferred
- CPR and EMT certifications required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to ride a bicycle for extended periods and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations
- Basic computer proficiency for reporting and communication
- Strong customer service and guest engagement abilities
- Conflict de-escalation and crisis response
- Knowledge of community-oriented patrol or hospitality-focused operations
- Experience with radio communication systems and incident reporting software
- Strong leadership, accountability, and team-building abilities
Additional Information
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, smell, taste, stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time
- Regularly work in wet, hot and humid conditions for extended periods of time and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
- Ability to stand, type and sit at desk/computer for most of the work shift executing repetitive movements
- Must be able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50lbs
