Job Description
Summary
The Housekeeping Supervisor maintain areas of responsibility by constant inspection, reporting and follow up in line with hotel standards.

Essential Job Functions
• Report for work in a neatly groomed and acceptable manner as outlined in the employee’s handbook and further developed in the departmental rules
• Inspect every V/C room ASAP for any discrepancies, report discrepancies to the front office
• Hand out the cleaning supplies to the room attendants along with the room key
• Train housekeeping employees
• Direct and assist in assigning work to personnel
• Supervise and inspect so that Housekeepers service guest rooms consistently with-in standards and in accordance with policies and procedures
• Replace all magazines every first of the month and update the T.V.Guide. Make sure all paper signs are clean and neat
• Ensure proper use of supplies by staff to minimize costs and avoid accidents. Understand the safety aspects and be in compliance with OSHA on the cleaning chemicals mixing, and storing
• Report and follow through on all necessary repairs through use of Maintenance Requests
• Inspect every room status daily in assigned areas, spot check stay-over status rooms as permitted by guest
• Make recommendations for disciplinary action, according to procedures
• Assist in the laundry and uniform area as necessary. Approach individual training as to be prepared to act in capacity of the Laundry Supervisor
• Monitor guest requests to be performed on a timely basis
• Update rooms for the front desk at the earliest time and assign rooms on a priority basis
• Perform final inspection of all work and follow through on all projects assigned by Housekeeping Manager
Qualifications
• Previous housekeeping and supervisory experience preferred
• Basic Spanish skills preferred
• English skills required
Additional Information
Supervision Given and Received
Given: Exercises direct supervision over Housekeeping staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, frequent and detailed review of work, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Received: Works under direct supervision of the Director of Housekeeping. Tasks are assigned according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently. Instruction, advice and assistance are readily available.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
• Ability to stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time. Kneeling and bending may be required
• Regularly work indoors with no adverse conditions. Some positions require exposure to outdoor elements or a combination of both indoors and outdoors and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
• Must be able to constantly lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance
