Job Description

Summary 

The Restaurant Manager is responsible for managing the restaurant operation with overall responsibility for service and financial aspects of assigned restaurant. The Restaurant Manager reports to the General Manager.

The budgeted salary range for this position is $59,000 - $79,000. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience, all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Assist in interviewing, selection, training and retention of employees
  • Responsible for managing, coaching, correcting employees, maintaining a positive atmosphere & upholding standards
  • Responsible for the financial success of the operation
  • Responsible for ordering, receiving, delivery and rotation of non-food items
  • Produce weekly schedules according to budget and forecasted numbers
  • Ensure that all daily opening procedures are followed
  • Ensure consistency of product/service using training guides
  • Maintain and promote proper food safety and handling protocol
  • Maintain a safe & clean work environment
  • Complete and assign daily preparation lists
  • Assist restaurant employees in the BOH and dining room as required
  • Communicate with General Manager (GM) as needed to provide menu and pricing information
  • Communicate with GM regarding the daily inventory and ordering process
  • Oversee daily closing and cleaning procedures
  • Complete and submit an accurate monthly inventory
  • Act as a coach to address any performance issues and document the same
  • Responsible for proper payroll procedure
  • Manages difficult or emotional customer situations; responding promptly to customer needs
  • Solicits customer feedback to improve service
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Hospitality management related degree preferred
  • 2 years of management experience in a Food Service environment required
  • Ability to communicate and follow oral or written directions in English is required
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish a plus
  • Basic knowledge of purchasing, scheduling and payroll systems required
  • Competent with computer programs such as Microsoft Office
  • Valid and unrestricted driver's license
  • Ability to ski or ride at an intermediate level is required for employees of ski in/ski out restaurants

Additional Information

Supervision given and received 
Supervision Given: Exercises direct supervision over the restaurant staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, frequent and detailed review of work, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Supervision Received: Works under general supervision of the General Manager. Receives continuing or individual assignments according to supervisor’s directions and may perform routine tasks. Expectations of the quality, quantity and deadlines are clearly set. Instructions, advice and assistance available as needed. Work is reviewed on demand or during scheduled check-ins.   

Work Environment and physical demands 

  • Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Regularly work in wet, hot and humid conditions for extended periods of time and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
  • Must be able to frequently  lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance
