Job Description

Summary 
The Food & Beverage Supervisor assist the Food & Beverage (F&B) management team in breakfast, restaurant and banquet operations. They provide management presence while operating as an active member of the F&B team.

Essential Job Functions 
•    Act as MOD during Breakfast or Dinner service
•    Help train, coach, and mentor breakfast, restaurant and bar staff
•    Create daily reports on covers and other nightly operational information 
•    Supervise restaurant & breakfast employees during service and support them by bussing and food running as needed 
•    Communicate with staff regarding specials, banquets, and expectations
•    Supervise opening and closing side work 
•    Coordinate with other departments to explore new business opportunities and plans 
•    Meet with Restaurant Manager to coordinate progress on given projects and to determine future assignments
•    Communicates with Restaurant Manager and/or F&B Manager daily, ensuring any urgent requests or issues are brought to light immediately
•    Help plan, set up, and run catering, holiday, wedding, and banquet events as needed 
•    Set up and break down breakfast buffet, keep the breakfast area maintained to the highest standards during service hours
•    Daily inventory and restocking of dishes, glassware, food items
•    Strong attention to service and presentation standards
•    Assist in planning the weekly schedule on time
•    Take a visible leadership role towards hotel guests
•    Assist with food ordering for breakfast as needed
•    Develop and coach staff with input from department managers and recommend corrective action as needed
•    Complete reports, projects, and paperwork as assigned on a timely basis
•    Assist Restaurant Manager and F&B Manager with payroll information regarding schedule changes, missed punches and adding alternate job codes
•    Work with all areas of the F&B department to include breakfast, lounge, and banquets
•    Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

•    High School Diploma or equivalent required 
•    1 years of F&B management experience preferred 
•    1 years of hotel industry experience preferred 
•    Knowledge of food and cooking methods and wine preferred

Supervision Given and Received 
Given: Exercises direct supervision over restaurant and bar staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, frequent and detailed review of work, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Received: Works under limited supervision of Restaurant Manager. Receives guidance in terms of broad goals and overall objectives and is responsible for establishing strategical methods to attain them. Can formulate policies but does not necessarily have final authority for approval. Review of work is not detailed and emphasizes accomplishment of broad work objectives, rather than specific assignments.

Work Environment and Physical Demands  
Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time. Regularly work in wet, hot and humid conditions for extended periods of time and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces. Must be able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance.
