Job Description

Summary 

The Snowcat Operator is responsible for delivery of food, beverage and other equipment/items required for Daily restaurant operation via snowcat. Remove trash recycle and compost from restaurants.

Essential Job Functions

  • Drives Snowcat up and down assigned mountain following the correct path
  • Unloads items from the Snowcat and stores items neatly in correct locations. Follows the correct procedure for recycling and the disposal of all trash
  • Lifts and carries items onto the Snowcat and pack securely
  • Ensure the security of the Snowcat at all times
  • Ensures the Snowcat is fully fueled with proper fluid levels at all times, as well as leaving the radio fully charged at the end of the shift
  • Transports and takes correct care of hazardous goods
  • Informs facility chef of any product missing from invoices
  • Informs manager of operational issues with delivery/removal of items or mechanical issues with the snowcat 
  • Works flexible shifts, depending on the needs of the business
  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • 2 years’ experience driving a snowcat or similar equipment required
  •  Current valid Driver’s License with ability to operate a variety of vehicles including stick shift, snowcat, snowmobile required
  • Ability to communicate and follow oral or written directions in English is required
  • High school graduate preferred
  • Ability to ski or ride at an intermediate level is required for employees of ski in/ski out restaurants in winter

Supervision Given and Received
Supervision Given: This position has no supervisory responsibilities 
Supervision Received: Works under direct supervision of the Restaurant Manager. Tasks are assigned according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently. Instruction, advice and assistance are readily available. 

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, see, hear, sit, drive a shuttle/car for extended periods of time; squat, kneel and bend 
  • Regularly work/drive in adverse weather conditions.  Frequently drive in bright sunlight and at night. Exposure to noises that cause distraction and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces 
  • Must be able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance (weight limits can vary according to position, but no more than 50)
