Job Description
Summary
The In Room Dining Manager is responsible for the general operation of the Room Service department and Mini Bar orders. Specifically, responsible for administrative duties, i.e. scheduling, payroll and accounting. Responsible for guest satisfaction in all Room Service operations ensuring Forbes 5 Star Standards.
The salary range for this role is between $80,000 and $90,000 annually. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience, all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

Essential Job Functions
• Ensure department exceeds Forbes 5 Star requirements
• Responsible for staffing levels within service and labor standards
• Responsible for the safety and proper handling of staff and equipment
• Take active part in hiring and firing of staff
• Assist in coordination of Room Service efforts to aid other Food & Beverage operations
• Attend and contribute input to weekly Food & Beverage meetings
• Supervise staff in their work maintaining high performance levels
• Responsible for controlling labor costs
• Oversee table set-up, side duties and delivery times
• Complete reports, projects and paperwork as assigned on a timely basis
• Communicate with the Executive Chef with feedback on function operations
• Supervise the care of equipment; minimize waste, breakage and misuse
• Operate as a Restaurant Manager when necessary
• Conduct formal training sessions with proper documentation
• Communicate with staff regularly and seek out staff’s opinion for improving operations
• Assist in maintenance and cleanliness of service areas
• Recommend purchases to Culinary and Food & Beverage Director to ensure accuracy of requisitions
• Maintain a high level of guest satisfaction; make immediate corrective action when guest’s needs are not met
• Maintain professional appearance and conduct at all times and ensure staff’s appearance and conduct is impeccable
• Maintain beverage presentation
• Demonstrate working knowledge of safety and fire procedures
• Assist in planning and executing special holidays and functions
• Control covers and revenues, maintain accuracy of staffs' work, summarize shift revenue report, deposits cash and tender properly
• Plan for forthcoming hospitality functions
• Supervise Assistant In Room Dining Manager and staff maintaining standards of performance
• Ensure Room Service area is clean and maintained including all back of house cleanliness and organization
• Create and deliver interesting eye-appealing guest amenities
• Maintain accuracy of Mini Bar checks and control Mini Bar cost, maintain security of items and review sales of items on a daily basis
• Enforce local liquor and sanitation ordinances
• Become aware of changes/cancellations of In Room Dining BEO’s
• Complete tasks and projects delegated by your Supervisor assist other departments as business volumes and staff levels demand
• Report to work in a neatly groomed and acceptable manner as outlined in the employee handbook and departmental rules
• Report to shift on time
• Enforce and comply with all policies and procedures for the Food & Beverage Department, The Little Nell and Aspen One
• Help grow external business such as ABO’s
• Develop SOP’s for Room Service and In Room Dining at The Residences at The Little Nell
Qualifications
• 2 year college degree preferred
• 5 years Food & Beverage experience in a luxury or 5 star hotel
• 3 year Management experience
• Knowledge of InfoGenesis equivalent, extensive wine knowledge, knowledge of food and cooking methods, ability to work well with people, strong organization and supervisory skills

Supervision Given and Received
Given: Exercises general supervision over In Room Dining Staff. Assigns a variety of routine tasks, sets general expectations of results expected within company’s policies and procedures. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Received: Works under general supervision of Assistant Director of Food & Beverage. Receives continuing or individual assignments according to supervisor’s directions and may perform routine tasks. Expectations of the quality, quantity and deadlines are clearly set. Instructions, advice and assistance available as needed. Work is reviewed on demand or during scheduled check-ins.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
• Ability to be on your feet, kneel and bend for extended periods of time
• Regularly work in adverse conditions and requiring the use of protective apparel/equipment to prevent exposure to the elements as well as an office environment and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
• Must be able to lift, push or pull occasionally up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance
