Job Description

Summary
The Spa & Wellness Manager oversees the Spa department of the hotel while focusing on developing individualized wellness experiences for guests by growing our Spa offerings. Responsibilities include managing the overall operation and performance of the spa and health center, meeting all financial objectives for the spa, meeting monthly spa revenue projections, as it relates to experiences and service, and ensuring that expenses are maintained within budget provided.

The budgeted salary range for this position is $75,000-$85,000. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience, all salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

Essential Job Functions
•    Lead outstanding guest service and satisfaction, following Forbes standards
•    Evaluates and selects internal and external talent to ensure the best match between the individual and the needs of the business
•    Responsible for the quality of service and maintenance of the Retail and F&B offerings of the Spa 
•    Responsible for the quality of service, upkeep and maintenance of fitness equipment 
•    Prepare monthly financial and statistical reports for the Hotel senior management incorporating proposals and recommendations regarding policy and operation of the Spa/Fitness, competition, occupancy and usage, market share and achievement of targets
•    Develop and submit an annual budget and business plan for the department and regularly review the business plan and update budget monthly, including the control of staff wage costs in relation to productivity and efficiency
•    Partner with the Executive Team in the preparation of PR & Marketing plans for the year and coordinate all promotional plans and projects for the facility
•    Provide leadership, direction and support to the employees of the Spa and develop a highly motivated team who can deliver high standards of service, including Forbes, in all areas of Experiences and Wellness programs
•    Effectively integrate the Spa within the hotel marketing strategy, in partnership with the Marketing Director, to ensure that our experiences are marketed properly both internally and externally including community partnerships and events
•    Communicate updates to ensure that all hotel staff are kept informed of changes or additions to the experience offerings
•    Work collaboratively and professionally with all levels of hotel staff
•    Build an open and trustful environment where everyone's opinion is shared and valued
•    Communicate clearly and openly the correct information at the right moment
•    Strive to deliver the best quality services and be encouraged by excellence

Qualifications

•    Previous Hotel/Resort Spa and Fitness Experience within a 5-star hotel
•    Minimum 2 years management experience in luxury Spa and Fitness
•    Strong leadership & organizational skills required
•    Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language

Supervision Given and Received  
Given: Exercises direct supervision over the Spa & Wellness department. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, frequent and detailed review of work, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. 
Received: Works under limited supervision of the Director of Operations. Receives guidance in terms of broad goals and overall objectives and is responsible for establishing strategical methods to attain them. Can formulate policies but does not necessarily have final authority for approval. Review of work is not detailed and emphasizes accomplishment of broad work objectives, rather than specific assignments. 
 
Work Environment and Physical Demands  
•    Ability to be on your feet, kneel and bend for extended periods of time  
•    Regularly work in adverse conditions and requiring the use of protective apparel/equipment to prevent exposure to the elements as well as an office environment and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces 
•    Must be able to lift, push or pull frequently up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance
