Job Description

The Manager of Strategy Insights is responsible for leading enterprise/ business strategic initiatives, developing actionable insights leveraging market/ financial data, and partnering with cross-functional business leaders in collaboration with the SVP of Strategy and VP of Enterprise Development. As part of the Strategy team, you will help bring strategies to life from conception to implementation and optimization. You will be researching, analyzing best practices inside out external to the company, formulating and testing hypotheses, developing and communicating recommendations, collaborating with cross-functional teams, influencing senior leadership on critical decisions, and assessing the performance of initiatives after implementation. 

This position can be based out of Aspen or Denver, with the potential for hybrid remote flexibility.  The pay range for this position is $97,000 - $127,400.  All exempt roles are eligible for a management incentive plan.

Essential Functions:

  • Strategy Development:
    • Support leadership team to define challenges, develop strategy and provide solutions
    • Partner with project teams to refine recommendations and critical insights
    • Develop frameworks and structures to innovate on and advance business challenges
  • Research and Analysis:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather information, validate assumptions, and address challenges
    • Perform comprehensive research on market trends, customer behaviors, and competitive positions
    • Draw actionable insights from internal and external data using sophisticated analytical techniques
    • Formulate and test hypotheses to provide accurate context to strategic questions.
    • Identify and translate external examples of best practices to improve operations aligned to the Strategic Pillars of Aspen One
  • Recommendation and Implementation:
    • Support the development of clear and compelling recommendations
    • Define actionable plans and roadmaps with cross-functional stakeholders and support implementation of complex change initiatives
    • Partner with teams to bring recommendations to life through implementation planning and project management
  • Performance Measurement:
    • Build and manage complex project timelines to deliver on target outcomes
    • Establish and monitor key metrics to track the success of strategic initiatives
    • Provide regular reporting and analysis on financial and operational performance to senior management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required with focus on economics, finance, data analytics, philosophy, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, corporate finance, business analytics, project management, or corporate strategy function
  • High degree of attention to detail and analytical rigor
  • Passion for excellence, hospitality, and the outdoors
  • Flexibility to lean in and provide support across a wide range of topics and projects
  • Proficiency in project management, financial modeling, statistical analysis, and data visualization tools
  • Exceptional analytical capabilities and business acumen
  • Experience and pride in organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to distill complex information in a rigorous but consumable way
  • Ability to deal effectively with ambiguity and thrive in an unstructured, fast-paced environment
  • Experience within hospitality, resorts, CPG/retail, luxury or brand-centric industry
  • Ability to develop a cohesive ‘story’ to communicate key recommendations by leveraging disparate data points/ learnings, and to effectively communicate to key stakeholders
  • Ability to work collaboratively & effectively with cross-functional leaders and their teams

  • Have an action-oriented approach, high degree of intellectual curiosity, a continuous improvement mindset, and a passion for problem solving

Ability to stand, type and sit at desk/computer for most of the work shift executing repetitive movements,
No adverse or hazardous conditions 
Not required, but preferred to be able to occasionally lift, push or pull 25 lbs. individually or with assistance (weight limits can vary according to position, but no more than 50

Supervision Given and Recieved

Supervision Given: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Supervision Recieved: Works under limited supervision of the Vice President of Enterprise Development. Receives guidance in terms of broad goals and overall objectives and is responsible for establishing strategical methods to attain them. Can formulate policies but does not necessarily have final authority for approval. Review of work is not detailed and emphasizes accomplishment of broad work objectives, rather than specific assignments.
