Job Description

Position Summary:
Welcome and register guests, present statements, check credit and collect payment for departing guests.

Service Standards:
Eye contact should be made at a distance of no less than 10 feet from every guest.
A genuine smile should be offered at a distance of no less than 5 feet from every guest.
Employees should build rapport with guests during any conversation, if the guest responds to the initial statement with a conversational demeanor.
Guest last name is used effectively, but discreetly, as a signal of recognition as least once and not more than twice during any conversation with guests.
Before concluding conversations, the guest is verbally offered additional assistance with a statement relevant to the guest’s individual needs.

Essential Functions of the Job:
Display at all times a friendly, courteous and professional manner in all dealings with guests and employees.
Must have good rapport with accounting and other personnel.
Welcome and register hotel guests.
Check guests out of hotel in accordance with procedures.
Work closely with the guest services agents to coordinate the smooth and efficient handling of guest luggage on both check in and check out.
Clear all “hold status’ room discrepancies.
Clear all “non-Z00” balances.
Maintain and update the Hotels’ Guest History.
Coordinate with other departments’ daily needs or special requirements for all hotel guests.
Record any guest complaints or problems and notify the appropriate individuals.
Select and block rooms for arriving guests, book same day reservations, pre-register guests as required, escort guests to their rooms and notify Managers of arrivals per request.
Be familiar with room and rate availability for current and future dates.
Accept reservations, changes and cancellations in accordance with procedures in the absence of reservation personnel.
Be able to work PBX console.
Provide Concierge services as needed and have knowledge of guest related concierge duties.
Do daily key count and request keys as par suggests.
Distribute hotel keys as necessary.
Be knowledgeable about all group and catering events and locations in the hotel.
Understand the Hotel Management System as it relates to with check in and check out procedures.
Run daily reports as necessary.
Make change, post charges, reconcile daily work and make deposits in accordance with established procedures.
Responsible for maintaining cash bank and for daily settling of cash bank.

Additional Duties:
Make Manager aware of guest’s comments and complaints.
Report to work in a neatly groomed and acceptable manner as outlined in the employee handbook.
Report to shift on time.
Comply with all policies and procedures for the Front Office Department, Limelight Lodge, and Aspen Skiing Company.
Is familiar with hotel fire and safety procedures. Assist in emergency and security procedures as directed by management.
Complete tasks and projects delegated by your manager and assist other departments as business volumes and staff levels demand.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, Skills
College degree preferred.
Previous front desk experience helpful
Excellent written and spoken English.

Additional Information

Physical Requirements of the position include:
Must be able to stand entire shift.
Dealing with noise of lobby area as well as phones..
