Job Description
Who You’ll Work With
We are seeking candidates who take pride in driving and sustaining product development through manufacturing. As an Arista Compliance Engineer, you will engage with Engineering, Platform Design, CM Partners, and other business functions. You will get an opportunity to work with some of the smartest engineering and technical leaders in the industry.
What You’ll Do
- Prevents compliance issues by collaborating with engineering planning and design teams; reviewing design data; identifying and resolving product and engineering design issues; identifying short-term and long-range issues; researching and identifying applicable regulatory and industry compliance standards and developing compliance policies.
- Develops compliance plans by researching, analyzing, selecting, and applying compliance engineering concepts, approaches, techniques, and criteria; adapting and modifying compliance engineering options; developing and evaluating new compliance methodologies; qualifying vendors, components, and parts.
- Organizes compliance program by preparing timetables, cost estimates, and required resources including test laboratories and equipment.
- Determines compliance by enforcing compliance test standards; conducting and witnessing tests; performing diagnostic procedures; measuring performance; analyzing and evaluating findings; performing forensic analysis of failures; troubleshooting failures.
- Attains compliance by isolating and resolving non-compliance issues; recommending product and process changes; initiating engineering change orders.
- Documents compliance by completing approval applications; recording test results; preparing investigative reports.
- Maintains engineering team accomplishments by reviewing open issues and action items; coordinating actions; contributing information and analysis to team meetings and reports.
- Prepares Engineering compliance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing measurement data.
- Updates job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging compliance engineering practices and standards; participating in educational opportunities and professional organizations; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks.
- Enhances engineering and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Qualifications
- BS or MS Electrical Engineering or equivalent (in lieu of degree, 3-5 years of relevant work experience)
- Experience with regulatory processes related to launching mass produced Data Center Switches
- Knowledge of typical regulatory issues, industry best practices, and international approval / certification processes
- Experienced coordinating team members from multiple disciplines to complete required compliance processes and documentation.
- Must have knowledge of basic schematics diagrams with emphasis on providing EMC design guidelines to Hardware design Engineers.
- Must be proficient with EMC Standards (FCC, CISPR32/35, KN, Taiwan CNS standards, etc.), measurements, data analysis and deep dive chassis and board level debug
- Hands on experience with the operation of EMC spectrum analyzer and receiver.
