Job Description

Who You'll Work With

The Service Planner works within the Service Logistics Organization at Arista, and plays a key role in enabling the success of Arista’s post-sales Support offerings, which includes Warranty, Same Day, and Next Business Day delivery of critical spare parts to Arista’s end customers. The Service Logistics Organization within Arista is responsible for Arista’s Service Supply Chain, including Arista’s global network of service depots; planning of spare parts inventory across those depots; rapid delivery of hardware replacements to end customers; reverse logistics of RMA returns from customers; and the repair and reuse of customer-returned inventory.

Working within Arista’s Service Planning team, the Service Planner is responsible for planning stocking levels for critical spare parts across Arista’s service depots, executing related supply plans, and achieving on time delivery of hardware replacements to customers.

What You'll Do

  • Plan inventory levels across Arista’s service depots to support customer service contracts
  • Drive inventory levels to achieve on time delivery of advance replacements against 2 hour, 4 hour, and Next Business Day SLAs
  • Define minimum stocking levels to hold in each depot based on install base, RMA rates, and lead time to replenish inventory
  • Optimize inventory levels such that on time delivery goals are achieved while minimizing inventory investment
  • Publish service demand to Repair Operations and prioritize repair output to fill minimum stocking levels in service depots
  • Drive new orders with Manufacturing for inventory that cannot be sourced from Repair.
  • Execute inventory movement and inventory transfers across service depots, rebalancing inventory as required
  • Oversee inventory metrics for Service Depots – including hit rate, fill rate, and repair-to-new-buy ratio
  • Develop and manage service inventory plans for new products as they are released by Arista’s R&D teams
  • Review disposition of Engineering Change Orders as submitted by Engineering, driving required actions on Service Depot inventory, and ensuring inventory freshness
  • Collaborate with peers to develop processes across Arista’s Service Supply Chain, including RMA Management, Inventory Management, Depot Operations, and Repair Operations
  • Collaborate with peers in the development of systems and tools across Arista’s Service Supply Chain

Qualifications

  • Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or Operations related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing, logistics, or service operations related roles
  • Knowledge of overall supply chain concepts - including inventory planning, inventory management, warehousing, and logistics
  • Experience in the high-tech industry (preferably networking equipment)
  • Self-starter who has the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to influence and motivate internal and external partners
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Experience with ERP systems and CRM
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including strong proficiency in Excel
  • Experience in Service Logistics and/or Manufacturing preferred
  • Experience with NetSuite and Salesforce a plus
