Job Description
The finance analyst is responsible for collection, organization, interpretation, analysis, recording, documentation and dissemination of complex data sets. The candidate will process and reconcile finance related transactions with a strong focus on accuracy, timeliness, customer service and the ability to work in a fast paced environment. The candidate will provide support during night shift corresponding to US EST working hours and be part of the Finance team supporting Surety and Marine business units.
Qualifications
- Assist in daily operations of the quarterly financial close process as well as Management and Corporate Reporting.
- Prepare assigned monthly and quarterly journal entries as required.
- Prepare quarterly reconciliations of sub-ledgers to general ledger.
- Prepare Reinsurance Statements monthly.
- Assist in running reports related to the monthly/quarterly close.
- Assist with various projects that entail analysis and reconciliation
- Implement GAAP standards and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) audit requirements
- Collaborate with both onshore and offshore teams to meet departmental goals
- Perform other duties as assigned and ad hoc requests.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Comprehensive knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing large datasets (Excel)
- In-depth knowledge of and experience with reporting packages and financial systems
- Basic understanding of project management concepts and understanding of insurance terminology preferred
- Strong financial and analytical skills
- Workday general ledger knowledge is desired but not a mandatory requirement
- Power BI Knowledge is desired but not a mandatory requirement.
