The finance analyst is responsible for collection, organization, interpretation, analysis, recording, documentation and dissemination of complex data sets. The candidate will process and reconcile finance related transactions with a strong focus on accuracy, timeliness, customer service and the ability to work in a fast paced environment. The candidate will provide support during night shift corresponding to US EST working hours and be part of the Finance team supporting Surety and Marine business units.

• Assist in daily operations of the quarterly financial close process as well as Management and Corporate Reporting.
• Prepare assigned monthly and quarterly journal entries as required.

• Prepare quarterly reconciliations of sub-ledgers to general ledger.
• Prepare Reinsurance Statements monthly.
• Assist in running reports related to the monthly/quarterly close.
• Assist with various projects that entail analysis and reconciliation
• Implement GAAP standards and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) audit requirements
• Collaborate with both onshore and offshore teams to meet departmental goals
• Perform other duties as assigned and ad hoc requests.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills                             
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy                            
• Comprehensive knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing large datasets (Excel)                 
• In-depth knowledge of and experience with reporting packages and financial systems  
• Basic understanding of project management concepts and understanding of insurance terminology preferred
• Strong financial and analytical skills
• Workday general ledger knowledge is desired but not a mandatory requirement
• Power BI Knowledge is desired but not a mandatory requirement.
