Arch Insurance International is a fast-growing insurance company which provides underwriting solutions across a diverse and growing portfolio of over 20 business classes, spanning multiple platforms in the London company market, the Lloyd’s market, the UK regional markets, and markets in Australia, Bermuda, and the EU.

Over the past 3 years we have increased our gross written premium from $783m to $2bn and the growth trajectory is planned to continue. Recently we were named the Top Large Insurance Employer in the Insurance Business UK Survey.

With this growth and our long-term ambitions, we are investing significantly within data, and recently setup the Chief Data Office.

As a Data/QA Engineer in our Data Quality department, you will be responsible for creating and managing data solutions and data visualisations to identify issues with data quality.

The role involves working together with the onshore Data Quality team to decide on the required data sets and data quality regulations to implement, as well as helping to conduct root cause analysis of problems.

 

  • Use dbt to build datasets that represent our most critical data within the organisation.
  • Build data visualisations to show data quality exceptions in a way that allows users to rectify issues as quickly as possible.
  • Support CollibraDQ by building data quality rules and monitoring exceptions to these rules.
  • Collaborate with Data Quality analysts to investigate root cause of issues and suggest resolutions.
  • Orchestrate data solutions using airflow.

Qualifications

You should apply if

  • You enjoy collaborating with your team members to build solutions which solve real customer problems.
  • You have experience within data engineering.
  • You have experience working with relational databases and investigating root cause of issues.
  • You have experience within a reporting tool ideally PowerBI.
  • Your SQL and data transformation skills are a key skill of yours.
  • You understand database management systems and scripting.
  • You have an interest on quality assurance projects and tasks.

Must Have

  • Snowflake, SQL

Nice to haves

  • Experience in dbt, airflow and Collibra DQ
  • Understanding of Python

  • BS in Computer Science, Information Technology degree, Data Analytics or equivalent
