Job Description

Aramark UK are currently recruiting for a Chef to join our team in York, YO1 4DH. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented chef to join a professional catering operation, delivering exceptional food across daily dining services and hospitality events.

As a Chef, you'll be a key member of our kitchen team, playing an important role in delivering great food and great customer experiences every day.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and cooking dishes across breakfast, lunch, and dinner services
  • Providing silver service-level catering for events and functions
  • Following recipe cards and maintaining excellent food safety standards
  • Supporting stock control procedures and placing food orders
  • Maintaining accurate kitchen records and documentation
  • Monitoring equipment temperatures and ensuring compliance with food safety procedures
  • Assisting with daily and weekly deep cleaning schedules
  • Coaching and supporting new starters as they develop their skills
  • Collaborating with the wider kitchen team to maintain high standards of food quality and service.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

  • Relevant culinary qualifications (NVQ Level 1 and Level 2, or equivalent)
  • A confident team player with effective communication skills
  • Flexible and proactive approach to work
  • Passion for food and delivering high-quality meals
  • Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment
  • Innovative mindset and willingness to contribute ideas
  • Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to pass security vetting and DBS checks
  • Must have been a UK resident for the past 3 years
  • Must have the legal right to work in the UK
