Human Factors Engineer

Company Description
Based at IDIADA's China Proving Ground in Zhaoyuan, as a Human Factors engineer you will be part of a specialized team working to develop and validate user-centered solutions for automotive products and for the mobility industry.
You will perform various R&D activities across automotive mobility and work on multiple projects defining the future of automated driving and intelligent transport solutions. This has a scope throughout the development process - covering research around users, product and system user requirement definition, human-centered concept generation, and user testing for validation / verification.
Job Description
Your main duties
- Application of Human Factors and Ergonomics at all phases of development, from concept definition through to design and testing
- Planning and execution of formative and summative user-centered research studies into areas such as: human behavior, cognitive performance, physiological condition, user comfort and experience, usability
- Application of qualitative and quantitative user testing methods in simulated and real-world environments
- Design of human factors methods and techniques applicable to the development of future vehicles and other transport solutions
- Creation of user level specifications of products and systems based upon insights from studies around human needs
- Development and implementation of extensive evaluation programs for testing of user interactions with autonomous driving systems
- Collaborating with clients and partners for work on multi-stakeholder projects
Customer engagement & On-site Support:
- Travel frequently to customer R&D facilities to provide technical advisory, function confirmation, compliance verification with international automotive safety protocols, and deliver specialized trainings
- Conduct technical workshops and training sessions on testing procedures and regulatory requirements

Profile
Profile (the following will be highly appreciated):
- Experience of applying human factors, ergonomics, and usability techniques and methods
- Previous involvement in product design and development, automotive industry is a plus
- Previous involvement in user research studies and testing, automotive industry is a plus
- Strong ability to articulate ideas and findings through presentations and technical documentation / reports
- Good verbal communication and team working skills with the capability to work in a dynamic environment
- Autonomy and willingness to learn and research about users of mobility products and systems
Education
- University studies in human factors, psychology, cognitive sciences, ergonomics, user experience design, product / industrial design, or equivalent field.
Languages
- Fluent in English
- Other languages will be of benefit
