Job Description
We are seeking a Governance & Operational Risk Specialist to drive the ongoing oversight of the Marketing Governance Framework, ensuring robust governance practices are embedded across all Marketing teams. This role is responsible for promoting compliance, strengthening risk management, and enhancing operational controls to create a well-governed Marketing function. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you will identify, assess and mitigate operational and governance risks, helping to prevent losses, improve decision-making and support the delivery of marketing activities in a controlled, compliant and efficient manner.
Core Responsibilities (amongst others):
- Maintain the Marketing related Governance Framework and support the Marketing business in Governance related matters including support for MRC (Marketing Risk Committee), ICA (In Country Approvals) and Routes to Market and other relevant Risk processes.
- Support the Team Lead – Governance & Operational Risk on any Governance framework initiatives and ensure that governance artefacts remain current and comply with internal requirement.
- Coordinate the Trader Onboarding process, ensuring traders are appropriately onboarded, trained, authorised, and granted system access in accordance with governance and compliance requirements prior to trade execution.
- Support the Operational Risk Key Risk Indicators process and review adequacy of remediation actions
- Conduct independent assessment of incidents, including root cause analysis and identification of lessons learned, and ensure that adequate actions have been taken to address root causes and prevent recurrence.
- Work with the Commodities Marketing Teams (CMT) and other Function teams to identify and monitor Key Risk/ Performance Indicators and produce the Marketing risk heatmap (or equivalent)
- Support in the completion of the Marketing Risk Assessment and update of Marketing Risk Register.
- Identify opportunities to automate operational risk reporting and enhance governance workflow to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support the planning, preparation and execution of audit and assurance activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualifications in relevant fields such as Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
- Experience in Operational Risk, Governance. Risk advisory or Business Management.
- Highly independent and accountable
- Ideally experience in a trading environment and/ or Commercial/investment banking / financial services background
- Experience in developing or enhancing governance frameworks in trading environments with excellent understanding of front-to-back trading process and teams.
- Experience within a complex organisation across different countries and jurisdictions, cultures, interfacing with internal and external stakeholders.
- Microsoft skills and Power BI knowledge.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Fluent written and spoken English as a pre-requisite.
- Proven ability to prioritise and work effectively to meet deadlines
