Job Description

Reporting to the Coal Clearance Superintendent, this role is responsible for delivering safe, reliable, and efficient electrical maintenance across the coal clearance circuit at Moranbah North. Working as part of a high-performing team, you will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of conveyor systems and associated infrastructure, ensuring optimal plant availability to support production targets. This position is ideal for an experienced underground electrician who is committed to safety, technical excellence, and continuous improvement within a coal mining environment.

Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)

  • Work within the coal clearance area to ensure all electrical activities are performed in full compliance with safety standards, statutory requirements, and site procedures.
  • Conduct electrical maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on coal clearance equipment to maintain safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot conveyor systems and associated electrical components, including drives, motors, control circuits, and protection systems.
  • Support production targets by delivering high-quality electrical maintenance and contributing to a strong, safety-focused team environment.

Qualifications

  • Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician (or equivalent)
  • Current Queensland Electrical Licence
  • Current Standard 11 (Surface & Underground)
  • EEHA certification
  • Demonstrated experience with conveyor systems and coal clearance infrastructure is highly regarded
  • Proven experience in electrical maintenance within an underground coal mining environment
  • Strong capability in fault finding and delivering best-practice electrical maintenance

  • Monday to Friday site role with 9-day fortnight available
