Moranbah North is a dynamic world-class operation that has an opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager (EEM) to join our Coal Handling Preparation Plant (CHPP) team.

As the EEM you will hold the statutory position for the CHPP and will be responsible for maintaining electrical maintenance practices that comply with the statutory requirements of the Coal Mine Act and Regulations.

In this role you will:

  • Be the focal point for all Electrical Engineering activities at the CHPP, including legislative governance and technical leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, statutory and company standards for electrical plant, equipment and personnel.
  • Review RSHQ notifications, OEM updates, Product Improvement Notices, significant incident reports and investigations to identify learnings and implement required improvements.
  • Maintain and enhance standards for electrical plant sign‑off, equipment design, specifications and electrical personnel qualifications.
  • Manage OEM contracts and oversee capital project delivery.
  • Monitor operational performance, identify risks and lead actions to achieve planned targets.
  • Liaise with other departments to set maintenance priorities and ensure whole‑of‑mine requirements are integrated into CHPP maintenance schedules.
  • Contribute to identifying, developing and implementing CHPP process improvements.
  • Govern and lead the CHPP Process Control Systems (PCS).
  • Formulate maintenance strategies collaboratively with engineering and maintenance teams.
  • Develop, mentor and lead a high‑performing electrical team.
  • Manage CHPP electrical budget planning, including annual budgeting and forecasting.
  • Plan, schedule and execute electrical maintenance activities.
  • Project manage electrical shutdowns and major electrical maintenance tasks.
  • Oversee contractor management in alignment with site policies, procedures and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in fixed plant assets.
  • Electrical Engineering Manager (EEM) Statutory Ticket.
  • Electrical Trade Qualification and or Electrical Engineering Degree.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of relevant mining legislation and its application.
  • Proven track record in driving continuous improvement and best practices.
  • High level of analytical, problem solving and coordination skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to communicate across all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience with SAP would be highly regarded.
