Job Description
We are currently seeking a Labourer – Non‑Ferrous Receiver for our Sainte‑Sophie site. This is a full‑time temporary position, with a work schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Reporting to the Site Director, the Labourer – Non‑Ferrous Receiver is responsible for the general maintenance of the premises. The incumbent will also contribute to the smooth operation of production, including sorting ferrous and non‑ferrous metals. The position requires working in a safe manner at all times by wearing personal protective equipment and strictly following safety guidelines.
What you will be responsible for :
- Welcoming customers, applying current procedures, and providing excellent customer service;
- Informing customers of pricing, entering data into the RECY system, and ensuring administrative follow‑up;
- Unloading, sorting, inspecting, weighing, and preparing incoming or outgoing materials;
- Identifying, classifying, and determining the type and quality of ferrous and non‑ferrous metals;
- Operating various industrial equipment and tools (loader, forklift, torch), including assisting with torch cutting when required;
- Preparing material for receiving and shipping, while working primarily outdoors in an industrial environment;
- Ensuring daily maintenance, wearing required PPE, maintaining order and cleanliness of the site, and performing any other related tasks.
Qualifications

- You are versatile, resourceful, and show a strong willingness to learn;
- You are comfortable working in an industrial environment (noisy, dusty, varying temperatures, mostly outdoor work);
- You have good priority management skills and enjoy teamwork;
- Knowledge of metals and/or experience operating a forklift or loader is considered an asset;
- You consistently comply with the use of required personal protective equipment.
