Job Description

AIM is currently seeking a Labourer – Non‑Ferrous Receiver for its Thetford Mines site. This is a full‑time, permanent position, with a work schedule from Tuesday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Reporting to the Site Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for the general upkeep of the site and for supporting daily production operations, including the sorting of ferrous and non‑ferrous metals. The candidate must work safely at all times by wearing the required personal protective equipment and strictly following safety procedures.

What you will be responsible for :

  • Welcoming customers and applying established procedures while providing excellent customer service;
  • Providing pricing to customers and entering data into the RECY system;
  • Unloading, sorting, inspecting, and weighing material;
  • Identifying, classifying, and determining the type and quality of ferrous and non‑ferrous metals;
  • Operating various industrial machinery and tools (loader, forklift, torch);
  • Assisting with torch cutting as needed;
  • Preparing shipments and receiving incoming material;
  • Performing daily maintenance and general site upkeep;
  • Ensuring site cleanliness and order, and cleaning the work area at the end of each shift;
  • Maintaining equipment, assets, and facilities in good working condition;
  • Working outdoors in an industrial environment;
  • Wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE);
  • Performing any other related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • You are comfortable working in an industrial environment (noisy, dusty, varying temperatures, mostly outdoor work);
  • You have strong prioritization skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team;
  • You have knowledge of metals and/or experience operating a forklift or loader (an asset).

  • Work performed mainly outdoors, with possible exposure to hot or cold temperatures;
