Job Description

  • Maintain accurate inventory of all company IT assets and ensure assets are properly accounted for and tracked.
  • Keep track of all technology related contract renewals and work with Procurement to ensure renewals and vendor negotiations are done in a timely fashion.
  • Work with PMO team to build and maintain the annual IT spending and budget.
  • Develop the annual technology chargeback costs and coordinate the IT financial chargeback between the IT PMO, the various IT teams, Finance, and the business units.
  • Work with IT directors to ensure that there is no duplication of business applications and propose projects to consolidate redundant software applications.
  • Ensure that the company is compliant with licensing requirements, all while keeping license costs in line with real business needs by working with the business to optimize business processes to control licensing costs.
  • Coordinate all IT operational activities and timelines across the various IT teams to ensure that no deadlines are missed with respect to contract renewals, inventory purchases, software needs, and project / business requirements.
  • Design and implement policies, procedures, and processes to improve IT operations and increase efficiency and productivity subject to review and approval by the CIO and key VPs/executives, as required.
  • Manage technology vendors and service providers to ensure that the organization’s technology needs are met. This includes developing and implementing a Net Promoter Score (NPS) process for evaluating key vendors and maintaining ongoing IT vendor communication channels and relationships to ensure AIM IT is getting the best possible value from our external partners.
  • Propose and lead operational improvement initiatives in IT, by implementing new processes and technologies to improve the way we work and to better support the organization’s business needs.
  • Ensure that the organization’s IT policies and procedures are up to date and compliant with industry standards and company regulations.
  • Oversee the ongoing IT budget and spending to ensure that expenses are in line with approved funding.
  • Keep up to date with the latest industry trends and developments in IT operations management and productivity tools and practices.
  • Assess IT’s customer performance with respect to IT services and project delivery, and recommend improvements.

Qualifications

  • Holder of a BSc/BA degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or relevant field or have equivalent work-related experience.
  • Proven experience as IT Operations Manager or demonstrated success in a similar role.
  • Experience working in a large organization with complex operations and demonstrated success in developing and managing positive business relationships.
  • Have a good knowledge with systems and experience with business analysis, coupled with a good understanding of technology related issues and requirements.
  • Strong leadership skills to effectively manage customer expectations, interact with senior leaders, and drive‍ performance.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with team members, senior management, vendors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Technical proficiency and knowledge of IT infrastructure, networks, and systems to effectively manage and troubleshoot issues is a definite asset.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Positive attitude, go-getter personality and an inherent aptitude for problem-solving and continuous improvement.
