Job Description
Key Responsibilities
1. REO Closing Coordination
- Manage assigned REO files from pre-closing stage to clear‑to‑close through final settlement completion.
- Coordinate pre-closing and closing timelines with asset managers, buyers, real estate agents, attorneys, and internal title teams.
- Review and validate satisfaction of pre‑closing conditions prior to scheduling closings.
- Ensure adherence to client‑specific REO instructions, deed requirements, and seller authority documentation.
- Schedule closings and ensure all closing logistics are confirmed within defined SLAs.
2. Quality Control & Compliance
• Perform detailed file level quality checks to ensure compliance with:
- Client closing instructions
- Underwriter requirements
- ALTA Best Practices and internal SOPs
• Identify defects, discrepancies, or potential risks and escalate issues appropriately.
• Support internal audits, client reviews, and compliance assessments by providing documentation and explanations.
• Comply with wire fraud prevention controls, data security standards, and record retention requirements.
3. Client and Stakeholder Management
- Serve as a primary point of contact for pre-closing and close related communications on assigned files.
- Provide timely and accurate status updates to internal stakeholders and clients.
- Handle escalations professionally and ensure resolution within agreed timelines.
- Document communications in accordance with REO communication and documentation standards.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent relevant work experience).
- 2–4 years of hands‑on experience managing REO pre-closing or closing activities.
- Ability to independently handle complex, high‑risk, or escalated REO files.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of REO settlement workflows and timelines.
- Working knowledge of closing statements, funding, recording, and post closing processes.
- Familiarity with ResWare or similar title/settlement platforms.
- Knowledge of ALTA Best Practices, wire fraud prevention controls, and data privacy standards.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage high volume workloads under strict SLAs.
