As a Senior Business Analyst, you act as the bridge between business stakeholders and IT teams, ensuring that business needs are translated into effective and high‑quality technical solutions.

You analyse business processes, structure information, gather and validate requirements, and support solution implementation in an Agile environment. You bring a continuous improvement mindset: curious, respectfully critical, and unwilling to accept “we’ve always done it this way.”

You challenge assumptions constructively and collaborate closely with stakeholders to design future‑ready, value‑driven processes aligned with the organisation’s business architecture.

Key Responsibilities

Business Process Modelling

• Analyse end‑to‑end business processes in a structured and effective manner using BPMN.
• Assess existing processes and identify improvement opportunities aligned with organisational objectives.
• Understand how business processes realise capabilities and collaborate with Business Architects to improve the overall business architecture.

Information Modelling

• Structure and represent business concepts clearly and consistently.
• Model information using UML class diagrams, while constructively challenging existing concepts where relevant.
• Understand the relationship between capabilities, information ownership, and information models.

Requirements Gathering & Analysis

• Elicit, analyse, clarify, and prioritise functional and non‑functional requirements.
• Work closely with business stakeholders, development teams, and the Product Owner within an Agile framework.
• Contribute to backlog definition and refinement to ensure value‑driven delivery.
• Maintain continuous stakeholder engagement and challenge assumptions constructively.

Solution Design & Validation

• Collaborate closely with the Solution Architect to ensure solutions meet business needs.
• Represent and safeguard the business architecture during solution design.
• Ensure alignment between implementation, business principles, and strategic objectives.

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Define and execute testing activities together with the Agile team.
• Write clear and comprehensive test cases based on user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Support and/or perform Business Acceptance Testing (BAT) to validate functional and process expectations.

Documentation

• Own the creation of clear, structured, and accurate documentation covering processes, requirements, and solution design.
• Actively improve documentation standards and practices within the team.
• Promote documentation as a key enabler for sustainable solutions and effective collaboration.
• Provide guidance to stakeholders on documentation best practices throughout the project lifecycle.

Leadership & Ownership

• Take ownership of delivering business needs in alignment with the business architecture.
• Proactively propose improvements and drive them through to implementation.
• Ensure delivered solutions create tangible business value.
• Act as a trusted partner to stakeholders, combining leadership, collaboration, and constructive challenge.

Required Profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 5–8 years of experience in Business Analysis and requirements documentation.
• Strong knowledge of Business Analysis methodologies (BABOK, UML, BPMN).
• Experience working in Agile product teams is a strong asset.
• Knowledge of ArchiMate is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to break down complex problems into clear, manageable components.
• Strong collaborative mindset with the ability to challenge assumptions respectfully and constructively.
• Languages:
  • Good command of Dutch and/or French, with a good understanding of the other national language.
  • English required.
