Service Description
The Business Analyst for Industrial IoT & Predictive Maintenance plays a key role in the digital transformation of the Asset Management domain. This department is responsible for the maintenance and commissioning of high‑voltage infrastructure, ensuring safety, quality, and operational excellence.
This assignment focuses on initiatives related to:
- Remote maintenance
- Predictive maintenance
- Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)
- Machine‑to‑Machine communication
- Big Data & Artificial Intelligence
- Smart sensors, actuators, and intelligent field devices
In addition to traditional business analysis activities, the role requires strong affinity with emerging technologies and the ability to assess their value for industrial operations.
The Business Analyst acts as the bridge between business stakeholders and IT teams, ensuring business needs are captured, translated into requirements, and aligned across all parties.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Process Modelling
- Model business processes and guide stakeholders in redesigning and improving them.
- Perform impact analyses for process or system changes.
- Develop context diagrams, business domain models, use cases, and user stories.
- Define business needs related to IT tools that support operational processes.
- Challenge business requirements to ensure feasibility and alignment with future processes.
Requirements Definition & Validation
- Facilitate alignment and validation of requirements between business stakeholders and IT teams.
- Validate functional analyses prepared by IT (functional analysts, architects, etc.).
- Support data modelling activities that reflect information needs across processes.
Data, Quality & Testing
- Participate in data quality initiatives and data migration efforts.
- Contribute to the preparation and execution of test plans for new system releases.
- Validate releases before deployment.
Change Management & Training
- Take an active role in change management according to established methodologies.
- Create training materials for end users and deliver training sessions.
- Support the business in adopting new tools and processes during post‑implementation phases.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Master’s degree, preferably in a technical or engineering field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in capturing and describing business needs.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in business process analysis and modelling.
- Experience modelling information flows and business data requirements.
- Knowledge of IoT, AI, or related emerging technologies is a strong asset.
- Experience in industrial asset maintenance is an advantage.
- Experience creating and executing test plans.
- Experience developing end-user training material.
Languages
- Fluent in Dutch, French, and English.
