Job Description

Alpadia Language Schools is recruiting for a US Camps Manager to prepare, lead and deliver the Alpadia program in the US. This position in a fixed term contract. 

Pre-summer responsibilities include leading teacher recruitment and on-boarding, training, inventory and resource preparations, programming and logistics. In addition, the position holder is expected to prepare the US operation from a health, safety, welfare, insurance and accreditation perspective.

The position holder is also responsible for financial the success of the operation, before and during summer, ensuring resources deployed are aligned with budget and the sales pipeline. 

During summer, this role oversees student satisfaction with academics, activities, transfers, accommodation, catering and pastoral care. In addition, the role provides ongoing guidance, mentoring and support to the camp teams, maximizing their employment experience. The position holder will also continue to organize camp logistics and cost control. 

Qualifications

Essential
o    Ability to lead, motivate and inspire others
o    Experience of managing in a young learner language camps/schools
o    Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with key stakeholders and build positive relationships
o    Experience of using Microsoft Office packages, notably Excel, Outlook and Word 
o    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
o    Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills
o    Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to work independently, prioritise and meet deadlines
o    Experience and/or qualifications relevant to health, safety and student welfare
o    Experience of event planning and logistics 
o    Experience working in a customer service setting
o    Experience of designing and delivering staff training programmes, ideally in a high volume, seasonal organisation

Desirable
o    Experience of managing operations across multiple sites
o    Experience of working in a US summer camp environment
o    MBA, DELTM qualification, or equivilant
o    Experience using CLASS software 
o    Experience in recruitment, selection and training
o    Experience of AUK, ACA and/or ACCET accreditation
 

Additional Information

This position is a fixed term contract running from January 2026 to mid-August 2026. 

Note that during the operating period (c.22.06.2026 – 16.08.2026) the position requires potentially long hours and weekend working. 

Pre-summer, the position is remote. During the operating period the work location will be at the LA camp. Alpadia will pay for all travel expenses. The position is dependent on the employee having the right to work in the US, or successfully obtaining a US work visa.
