Job Description

The Senior Project Engineer will have the opportunity to work with Senior Project Managers and their teams, participate in major project work, developing skills and experience across a broad range of functions in your relevant study area and working with highly proficient and experienced mentors in a multi-disciplinary environment.

We offer FIFO/DIDO on 3/1 roster from Brisbane.

The role responsibilities include:  

  • Review drawings and specifications and execute the scope of work in accordance with these.
  • Prepare MTO’s and RFQ packs for material procurement and subcontractor engagement.
  • Evaluate quotes and prepare technical and commercial bid evaluations for material and subcontract packages for approval.
  • Review and understand project budgets and schedules and assist with identifying project variations.
  • Deliver engineering administrative and technical support to project teams to facilitate effective delivery of projects.
  • Scheduling of procurement, fabrication and subcontractor engagement to meet project schedules.
  • Oversee project deliverables for site execution including ITP’s, ITR’s, work packs.
  • Develop progress tracking spreadsheets and provide updates and report on project progress.
  • Liaise with client representatives on project commitments and assist resolving technical queries.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation and deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with client QAQC requirements, as well as Company policies, plans and procedures.

Desirable skills could include:
 

  • Quality control for construction in the Oil and Gas industries.
  • Understand and implement customer QC requirements for the project.
  • Traceability and Logging of, all structural and pressure retaining welds.
  • Welding inspection of all welds (or NDT request for visual weld inspection by third party)
  • NDT requests for all testing of piping, and preparation for Hydro testing.
  • Carry out Hydro test inspections, verify reports and assist with reinstatement of spools for Surface treatment.
  • Work with QC inspectors to confirm all testing and verification checks are complete.
  • Assist with final inspection of pipe spools for later assembly.
  • Review and assist Project Managers with Hold and Witness points on ITPs
  • Liaise with Project Managers, Supervisors and Checkers to manage the QA/QC requirements of the project.
  • Opportunity for travel to site or subcontractor workshops from time to time as required.

 

Qualifications

  • Have Structural / Mechanical / Piping (SMP) Engineering Degree with around 10+ years’ experience in Australia
  • Demonstrated comprehensive skill, knowledge, and experience of the following:
    • Gas pipeline facilities or process plant construction
    • Package management
    • Subcontractor management
    • Test Pack development and completion
  • Willingness to work FIFO in remote QLD
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal employees
  • White Card
