Job Description

Job Summary

The Business Systems Analyst II Business Intelligence (BI) is responsible for consulting with the business to investigate data discrepancies, translate issues into development specifications, and document, analyze, and test code changes within AGS’ business environment.  The Business Systems Analyst II must deeply understand the BI architecture (front-end and back-end systems and processes) as the analyst provides technical guidance to AGS’ internal teams on the optimal solution for business logic.

The analyst is seen as the subject matter expert (SME) on data, which includes but is not limited to the overarching data flow, starting with our customer’s talent systems (Vendor Management Systems, Applicant Tracking Systems, CRM, etc.), external data sources (e.g., Lightcast), AGS’ Data Warehouse, and Process Improvements. The analyst is required to communicate effectively orally and in writing.  

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile and manage data quality to resolve discrepancies and/or reconcile results using SQL queries. Utilize data to identify potential system issues
  • Facilitate the process of loading new clients into the enterprise data warehouse
  • Partner with BI Developers to support QA processes for our BI solutions
  • Provide consultation to internal and external business users requesting new BI features
  • Contribute to the effective Data Governance of our data. This includes data quality, data management, business process management, and security
  • Monitor, maintain, and triage Data Quality defects/inquiries that come through AGS360 (Salesforce)
  • Troubleshoot integration/build failures and client delivery gaps to determine root causes and provide guidance on possible solutions, including writing SQL queries to validate data in Azure and Snowflake environments.
  • Create process models and technical specifications to provide direction to developers and/or the product team
  • Participate in identifying and maintaining team best practices
  • Participate in Agile SCRUM process, including managing backlog items and test cases

 

    Qualifications

    Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

    • 3 – 5  years of experience in an IT Business Analyst/Consulting role, or related position
    • 3 – 5 years of experience using SQL to query data
    • 3 – 5 years of experience using PowerBI to visualize data
    • B.S. in Computer Science, Business, or related major or equivalent business experience
    • Problem analysis and solving skills – ability to identify root causes of problems and differentiate between perceived and actual problems.
