As part of the development of its activities in Latin America, Akuo is looking for a Financial Controller – Service Business.
Job Description
The successful candidate will join the AKUO team in Chile and work in coordination with the regional teams, the Finance Department and support functions based in Paris.
Duties and responsibilities:
General:
- Act as the finance point of contact for service activities and holding company in Chile.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of performance indicators, processes and management tools.
- Act as a business partner to Country Management and operational teams by providing financial analysis and decision-making support.
- Coordinate the work of external accounting teams and statutory auditors.
Management control of holding companies and related service activities:
- Prepare the annual budget and quarterly reforecasts.
- Monitor service revenue and operating costs, including personnel costs and overheads.
- Analyze revenue and costs by project and service contract—including development, construction supervision, operations and maintenance— identify variances and flag any adverse trends.
- Prepare and update the holding companies' business plans.
- Ensure that the companies comply with their contractual and legal obligations.
- Provide reporting to the Group and local management teams, including the country income statement, KPIs and budget tracking.
Management control of development investments:
- Track external and internal development costs.
- Analyze variances against the annual budget, and commitment authorizations approved by the committees.
- Support development teams with financial models, appropriate expected return assumptions and the sizing of service contracts.
Financial closing of holding company and project companies under development:
- Analyze accounts, balance sheets and income statements.
- Coordinate quarterly closings in accordance with Group deadlines.
- Act as the interface between External Accountants, Operations, Legal, external advisers and the tax authorities.
- Ensure that management data is reconciled with accounting data.
- Ensure that annual audit reports are obtained for the entire scope. Oversee the year-end closing files prepared by the Group's accountants, as well as the related legal documentation.
- Present the companies' annual accounts at General Meetings.
Cash management and supplier relations:
- Prepare cash flow forecasts for each company.
Tax returns:
- Oversee the returns prepared by the accountant relating to value-added tax, corporate income tax, stamp tax and municipal taxes.
Qualifications
Experience level: Senior (8 to 12 years of experience)
Required education, previous experience, language proficiency, systems expertise and specific interests:
Graduate of a higher education institution, such as a business school, with at least eight years of professional experience in financial control or management control and a strong accounting and tax component acquired in an accounting firm, audit firm, large corporate group and/or international mid-sized company, ideally in renewable energy.
Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.
Excellent command of Excel and financial modeling.
Software used: ERP for accounting and operational processes, Kyriba for cash management, and EPM for reporting and performance management.
