Our Digital team is at the heart of this transformation, shaping innovative solutions and setting new standards in the airline industry. Architecture is at the centre of that journey. We’re looking for experienced architects who are confident in their craft, collaborative in style, and comfortable navigating complexity to gain clarity.
As a Senior Solution Architect in our Architecture Chapter, you’ll play a pivotal role in designing and guiding the technology solutions that underpin our most important customer and operational experiences. You’ll bring a customer-first lens to solution design, ensuring experiences are intuitive, reliable and aligned to measurable outcomes. You’ll work across squads, tribes and platforms to shape technically robust solutions, aligned to business goals, and designed to adapt as our platforms and needs evolve.
The role you will play:
You’ll be working with a wide range of technologies, including public cloud services, SaaS products, internally developed apps and containerised microservices with a variety of integration approaches, including APIs and event-driven/streaming patterns (e.g., Kafka):
- Designing and guiding robust, maintainable solutions across a variety of technologies, including SaaS, cloud-native apps, microservices, APIs and event-driven/streaming architectures
- Collaborating with stakeholders and SMEs to align solutions to business goals and technology strategy
- Assessing trade-offs to enable adaptive, secure and value-driven outcomes
- Operating with purpose within our governance frameworks while evolving them to meet new ways of working
- Lifting architectural maturity by sharing patterns, mentoring others and contributing to our chapter's craft and capability
What you will bring to this role:
- Strong integration experience, especially with SaaS platforms
- Experience designing integrations using APIs and event-driven/streaming patterns (e.g., Kafka)
- Confidence navigating unfamiliar business domains and emerging tech
- Ability to work across disciplines like software engineering, cyber security and operations
- A holistic view of architecture and how it impacts wider systems and business outcomes
- Clear, purposeful communication and documentation skills
- Proven ability to build trust with stakeholders and influence at multiple levels
- A strategic mindset, grounded in a strong understanding of enterprise goals
Nice to have:
- Demonstrated experience designing cloud-native solutions on AWS and/or Azure, with a focus on secure, resilient and cost-conscious outcomes (including containerised workloads where they’re a good fit)
- Experience designing secure-by-design solutions, including identity and access patterns (e.g., Azure AD, Okta) and alignment with enterprise security practices
- Familiarity with MACH principles (microservices, API-first, cloud-native, headless) and applying them where they’re a good fit
- Familiarity with aviation industry SaaS products (e.g., airline operations, crew, disruption/IRROPS) and the integration patterns commonly used across airline ecosystems
If you meet the majority of the criteria and are excited by the opportunity, we’d love to hear from you.
