About the role
As our Manager Leasing - Strategy & Leasing (Senior P&I Specialist), you'll combine deep commercial leasing expertise with strategic thinking and governance leadership. You'll lead selected complex, operationally sensitive leasing transactions while supporting the ongoing implementation and refinement of a new outsourced leasing model that aligns with the airline's commercial and operational priorities. The role purpose, key outputs, and governance responsibilities are aligned with the attached position profile.
You'll:
- Lead significant and complex leasing transactions across airport, operational and network critical property
- Provide trusted commercial advice to senior leaders and stakeholders across the business
- Oversee governance of outsourced leasing services, monitoring performance, resolving issues and ensuring compliance with Air New Zealand policies and delegated authority.
- Identify and manage commercial, operational, compliance and Health & Safety risks to support sound decision making
- Partner with Finance to support budgeting, forecasting, accruals and financial performance
- Build strong relationships with airports, landlords, legal advisors, service providers and internal stakeholders to deliver successful commercial outcomes
- Contribute specialist leasing expertise to portfolio strategy, operational planning and future property initiatives.
What we're looking for
You'll bring extensive experience in commercial leasing, corporate real estate or another complex property environment, along with the confidence to navigate commercially sensitive decisions and influence senior stakeholders.
Ideally, you'll have:
- Significant experience leading complex commercial leasing negotiations and property transactions
- Strong commercial judgement and the ability to balance strategic, operational and financial priorities
- Experience working within governance, delegated authority and commercial approval frameworks
- The ability to build trusted relationships across diverse stakeholder groups, including executive leaders and external partners
- Experience overseeing outsourced providers, consultants or leasing teams would be advantageous
- Experience preparing high-quality papers, reports and presentations for senior leadership or governance forums
- A relevant tertiary qualification in property, commerce, law, business, finance or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. Relevant professional memberships or governance, procurement or project management certifications are advantageous.
