Job Description

Kia ora!

Help shape the future of Air New Zealand's global route network.

As a Network Planning Specialist (12-month fixed term  contract), you'll play a key role in identifying growth opportunities, optimising our route network, and helping deliver commercial outcomes that connect New Zealand with the world. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their network planning or commercial analytics career.

Air New Zealand is on an accelerated journey to become the world's leading digital airline. Our Network Planning team sits at the heart of that ambition, using data, insight, and collaboration to shape where we fly and how we grow. Recently recognised as New Zealand's most attractive employer, we continue to build a culture where innovation, curiosity, and fresh thinking thrive.

You'll be supported by experienced colleagues while having the opportunity to own meaningful pieces of work, influence strategic network decisions, and continue developing your commercial expertise.

How you'll make an impact

  • Coordinate and deliver network improvement initiatives across our international route portfolio, working with stakeholders to achieve successful commercial outcomes.
  • Analyse network opportunities using industry planning tools and modelling techniques to identify initiatives that improve commercial performance.
  • Develop forecasts and business cases that support informed network and scheduling decisions.
  • Partner with teams across Commercial, Revenue Management, Fleet Planning, Finance, and Operations to deliver integrated network plans.
  • Monitor competitor scheduling activity, market trends, and network performance to identify opportunities and emerging risks.
  • Share insights and best practice that contribute to continuous improvement across the Network Planning team.

What we're looking for

  • At least three years' experience in airline network planning or a comparable commercial analytical environment. Experience in revenue management, strategy, commercial planning, or a similar analytical role will also be considered.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn data into practical commercial recommendations.
  • Experience developing forecasts, business cases, or commercial analysis that supports business decision making.
  • The ability to build strong working relationships and collaborate with stakeholders across different teams.
  • Confident communication skills, with the ability to present insights clearly to a range of audiences.
  • Experience using network planning tools or similar analytical modelling techniques would be an advantage, but not essential.

If you meet the majority of the criteria and are excited by the opportunity, we'd love to hear from you.
