The Senior Regulatory Affairs Analyst is responsible for interpreting statutes, regulations and administrative rules of various issuing bodies and developing procedures and processes to assure compliance with those rules and monitoring the performance of those procedures and processes. The senior analyst will serve as a liaison to operations, campuses, and appropriate regulatory entities for the implementation, update and communication of all program changes.
Responsibilities
- Works with colleagues in all institutions and functional areas to ensure processes, procedures, internal and external reporting, materials and communications are developed in compliance with federal, state and internal standards and regulations.
- Works on specialized assignments such as marketing material review and approval
- Represents the organization in professional organizations and government entities.
- Represents Regulatory Affairs in institution meetings; provide regulatory guidance and recommendations for organizational programs and initiatives.
- Executes controls in high risk areas to mitigate non-compliance risk exposure.
- Provides information and guidance to colleagues throughout the organization on regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Coordinates with other Regulatory Affairs functional units to continuously improve the service that is provided to all institutions.
- Prepares and delivers presentations to senior management.
- May be assigned to mentor a new colleague, depending on experience.
- Assists Regulatory Affairs Director with escalated questions and projects as assigned, act as a delegate to the Director in their absence.
- Analyzes new and amended state and federal regulations and accreditor requirements to determine the organizational impact
- Develops, implements, and maintains the organization's written compliance policies and procedures to ensure requirements remain observant to all current federal and state, regulations and internal standards.
- Ensures that corrections in the areas of non-compliance are made timely and accurately; escalates unresolved items to manager as needed.
- Work with all functional areas as needed to develop new reporting capabilities and improve existing
- processes; serve as team liaison and provide guidance to business on projects.
- Trains colleagues and external partners on compliance with relevant policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Master's Degree preferred.
- 4 years in a federal/state regulated environment required.
- Experience in higher education regulatory compliance preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel and internet applications required.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, critical thinking, analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
- Is a detail-oriented problem-solver.
- Can demonstrate a consistently great work ethic in a high productivity environment.
- Can travel 10%.
- Writing samples required.
Additional Information
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $49,199 and $86,253. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
