Maintenance Assistant

Join our team as a Maintenance Assistant and help keep our hotel running smoothly. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys problem-solving, takes pride in their work, and has a genuine can-do attitude.

Reporting to the Rooms Division Manager you will be working across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities, you'll be responsible for completing general repairs, preventative maintenance, and ensuring the hotel is safe, functional, and well-presented for our guests and team members.

What you'll be doing:

• Carrying out general maintenance and repair work throughout the hotel
• Completing preventative maintenance tasks and inspections
• Assisting with basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry work
• Responding to maintenance requests in a timely manner
• Maintaining a safe working environment and following Health & Safety procedures
• Building positive relationships with team members and guests

Key Requirements

• Previous handyman or maintenance experience.
• Basic skills in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry.
• Ability to follow Health & Safety procedures.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritise workloads.
• Good level of physical fitness and professional presentation.
• Positive can-do attitude and guest-focused approach.
• Flexible to work weekends and public holidays as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete general maintenance and repair work.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and complete maintenance tasklists.
• Respond to maintenance requests promptly.
• Maintain guest rooms, equipment, and hotel facilities.
• Build positive relationships with guests and colleagues across the hotel.
