Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and strategic Assistant Director of People & Culture to join our team in Swissotel Resort El Qusier, Egypt. In this pivotal role, you will partner with senior leadership to develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive people strategies that drive organizational success, foster colleague engagement, and ensure full compliance with local and international employment regulations. As a collaborative leader with strong analytical capabilities, you will champion our culture of inclusivity, support, and continuous improvement while managing the day-to-day operations of our People & Culture department.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align people and culture initiatives with organizational goals, staffing strategies, and talent retention objectives
- Plan, develop, coordinate, and implement HR policies, processes, training programs, and engagement initiatives that support organizational mission and strategic priorities
- Administer and oversee key People & Culture programs including compensation and benefits, performance management, talent development, recognition initiatives, occupational health and safety, and compliance matters
- Identify staffing and recruiting needs; develop and execute best practices for talent acquisition, onboarding, and retention
- Conduct thorough research and analysis of organizational trends, metrics, and data from HRIS or talent management systems to inform strategic decision-making
- Monitor and ensure organizational compliance with Egyptian employment laws, international labor standards, and recommended best practices; proactively review and modify policies to maintain compliance
- Manage the People & Culture budget effectively, including benefits administration, labor and salary reporting, and cost-effective program planning
- Build authentic relationships with colleagues and leaders, demonstrating empathy and understanding while supporting their professional development and well-being
- Assist departmental leaders and senior managers in developing action plans to address colleague feedback and organizational challenges
- Facilitate administration of leave of absence, disability claims, and other statutory requirements in accordance with local legislation
- Communicate clearly with all colleagues regarding benefit eligibility, enrollment, and program participation
- Demonstrate resilience and decisiveness when managing complex HR matters, escalated situations, and sensitive confidential information
- Support leaders in understanding and implementing any applicable collective bargaining agreements
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational objectives
Qualifications
**Required Experience & Education:**
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience in a Human Resources leadership or management capacity
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Management, Organizational Development, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience working in hospitality, international business, or similar customer-focused industries
- Solid understanding of Egyptian employment laws and international labor regulations
- Experience managing HR functions in both unionized and non-unionized environments
**Required Skills & Competencies:**
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Familiarity with HRIS software platforms and talent management systems
- Exceptional analytical and data interpretation skills with ability to translate metrics into actionable insights
- Strong problem-solving, strategic thinking, and decision-making capabilities
- Excellent conflict-resolution and mediation skills with high emotional intelligence
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with ability to present to diverse audiences
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and maintain attention to detail
- Strong financial acumen with understanding of budgeting, cost analysis, and financial planning
- Project management and change management experience
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment with sensitive information
- Collaborative and inclusive leadership style with genuine passion for supporting colleague development
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Experience in international or multicultural HR environments
- Knowledge of compensation and benefits administration
- Experience with performance management systems and talent development programs
- Familiarity with occupational health and safety compliance frameworks
