Job Description

We are looking for a Part-time Commis Chef to join our kitchen team and contribute to the delivery of exceptional food and memorable dining experiences for our guests.

Working alongside our experienced culinary team, you’ll have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a variety of kitchen operations. No two shifts need to look the same, with the opportunity to work across:

  • Banqueting and events, preparing food for meetings, conferences and special occasions
  • Breakfast service, supporting the team with preparation and service
  • Pastore, our modern Italian restaurant, working across à la carte preparation and service
  • In-Room Dining, preparing and presenting meals for our hotel guests
  • General kitchen operations, including food preparation, mise en place, cooking and maintaining a clean and organised work area

You’ll work as part of a team to ensure food is prepared and presented to a consistently high standard, while following food safety, hygiene and kitchen procedures.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is keen to develop their culinary skills in a busy hotel environment and gain exposure to different styles of service and kitchen operations.

Qualifications

  • Previous kitchen experience is preferred, but we’re also open to candidates who are starting out in their culinary career
  • A genuine passion for cooking and an interest in developing your culinary skills
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • The ability to work efficiently and calmly in a busy kitchen environment
  • A strong focus on food quality, presentation and cleanliness
  • A reliable and flexible approach to work
  • Availability to work a range of shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays
  • Unrestricted working rights in Australia
