Job Description
At SLS The Red Sea, the night never means the experience slows down. As Night Manager (Saudi National), you will be the senior leader overseeing the hotel’s overnight operations, ensuring our guests continue to receive the same seamless, attentive, and distinctive SLS experience throughout the night.
With a confident and hands-on approach, you will lead the overnight team, oversee hotel operations, and act as the key point of contact for guest and operational matters after hours. From VIP arrivals and service recovery to night audit, safety, and cross-department coordination, you will ensure every detail is handled with care while keeping the hotel running smoothly and setting the team up for a successful day ahead.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee overnight hotel operations, ensuring service, safety, and operational standards are maintained across all areas.
- Act as the senior management representative during the night shift and serve as the main point of contact for guest and operational matters.
- Maintain a visible presence in the lobby and public areas, engaging with guests and supporting the team whenever required.
- Oversee night audit procedures, room assignments, late arrivals, early departures, group movements, and VIP arrivals and departures.
- Personally welcome and assist VIP and loyalty guests, ensuring preferences and special arrangements are delivered accurately.
- Handle guest feedback, complaints, and service recovery professionally, ensuring appropriate resolution and follow-up.
- Ensure guest requests, preferences, and special arrangements are properly recorded, communicated, and followed through.
- Conduct regular property walkthroughs to monitor safety, cleanliness, presentation, and overall service standards throughout the night.
- Serve as the overnight emergency response lead and coordinate with Security, Engineering, and other relevant teams when incidents occur.
- Ensure compliance with hotel safety, security, health, hygiene, and emergency procedures during overnight operations.
- Coordinate closely with Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Security, and other departments to ensure smooth overnight operations.
- Lead shift briefings and handovers, ensuring important guest, operational, and safety information is clearly communicated between shifts.
- Lead, support, and coach overnight colleagues, providing guidance and on-the-spot support when required.
- Monitor colleague grooming, conduct, and guest engagement to ensure alignment with SLS standards.
- Support the Night Auditor with daily revenue balancing, transaction reconciliation, discrepancies, and completion of night audit requirements.
- Review high-balance accounts, open paymasters, credit risks, rebates, adjustments, and other financial matters in line with hotel procedures.
- Authorize late check-outs, complimentary postings, paid-outs, rebates, and adjustments within assigned authority.
- Identify and support upselling opportunities while contributing to Front Office revenue performance.
- Ensure guest registrations and records are accurate and completed in accordance with hotel procedures and applicable Saudi tourism requirements.
- Maintain accurate guest information in Opera PMS, including preferences, profiles, identification details, and relevant stay information.
- Review and maintain the Duty Manager Logbook, ensuring clear records and appropriate follow-up for the morning and leadership teams.
- Manage overbooking or other unexpected operational situations effectively, ensuring alternative arrangements maintain the expected guest experience.
- Monitor the overnight presentation and atmosphere of the lobby and public areas, including lighting, music, scent, and overall appearance.
- Prepare and communicate overnight reports, incidents, outstanding matters, and key updates to the relevant teams and senior leaders.
- Support the continuous improvement of guest satisfaction, service recovery, upselling, guest preference recognition, and other Front Office performance indicators.
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Front Office operations, with previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Previous experience within a luxury, lifestyle, or high-end hospitality environment is preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of Opera PMS and Microsoft Office.
- Strong understanding of Front Office operations, night audit procedures, guest service, and hotel safety requirements.
- Confident in handling guest complaints, operational challenges, and emergency situations independently.
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills, with the ability to remain composed under pressure.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong follow-up and organizational skills.
- Excellent command of English; Arabic or additional languages are an advantage.
- Flexible to work overnight shifts, weekends, and public holidays according to operational requirements.
