Job Description
We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Fairmont Southampton as our new Recreation Attendant. Reporting to the Recreation Manager, the Recreation Attendant plays a key role in delivering exceptional leisure experiences across Fairmont Southampton’s resort recreation venues. This position ensures the safety, comfort, and enjoyment of all guests while maintaining pristine facilities, providing warm and engaging service, and supporting a variety of recreational programs and activities. With a focus on luxury service, attention to detail, and guest interaction, the Recreation Attendant helps create unforgettable moments that elevate the overall resort experience.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service & Experience
- Assist guests with daily needs and requests, delivering warm, attentive service.
- Ensure all guests have seamless access to resort amenities, including towels, loungers, umbrellas, water, sunscreen, and recreational supplies.
- Lead and support recreation programming such as poolside games, family activities, sports, crafts, and themed events to create memorable guest moments.
Facility & Equipment Maintenance
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and overall safety of all recreation facilities, including Beach Club, Spa Pool, Resort Pools.
- Replenish all guest amenities throughout the day to ensure consistent presentation and availability.
- Monitor recreation areas for safety hazards, maintenance needs, or equipment issues and take prompt corrective action.
Activity & Event Operations
- Execute full setup, breakdown, and cleanup for all recreation activities and guest events.
- Prepare and stage recreation equipment, activity materials, and guest amenities according to luxury service standards.
- Support special programming and seasonal activities as directed by the Recreation Manager.
Safety, Compliance & Reporting
- Follow all resort safety procedures, emergency guidelines, and recreation protocols.
- Uphold cleanliness and hygiene standards across all recreational areas.
- Complete required logs, checklists, and operational reports accurately and on time.
Qualifications

Experience
- 1–2 years of experience in recreation, leisure services, hospitality, or a guest-facing customer service environment.
- Previous resort, beach, pool operations, or fitness/recreation experience is an asset.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- CPR/First Aid certification is an advantage (or willingness to obtain).
Competencies, Knowledge & Skills
- Strong customer service orientation with a warm, engaging, and enthusiastic attitude.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a collaborative, fast-paced team.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with an eye for detail and cleanliness.
- Comfortable working outdoors for extended periods, in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift, move, and set up recreation equipment (chairs, umbrellas, sports equipment, etc.).
