Job Description

Join our kitchen team as a Demi Chef and help us deliver exceptional Latin American and Western cuisine! You'll work alongside the Chef de Partie/Sous Chef to keep your station running smoothly, mentor junior kitchen staff, and maintain the high standards our guests expect.

What You'll Be Doing

Daily Kitchen Operations

  • Partner with the Chef de Partie/Sous Chef to manage your assigned station, keeping mise en place stocked and service flowing seamlessly
  • Prepare and cook Latin American and Western dishes following our recipes and quality standards—with a real passion for Latin American flavors, techniques, and ingredients
  • Master the full range of cooking methods: grilling, roasting, frying, sautéing, and more
  • Guide and support Commis Chefs through daily prep, cooking, and kitchen procedures while keeping waste to a minimum
  • Taste, check temperatures, and inspect every dish to ensure it meets our quality and portion standards before it leaves the kitchen
  • Keep your workstation and all equipment spotless and organized—hygiene isn't negotiable

Team Leadership & Safety

  • Lead by example: maintain top-notch personal hygiene and professional appearance, and hold your team to the same standard
  • Ensure the team follows all food safety, hygiene, and HACCP procedures—no shortcuts
  • Spot potential hazards or equipment issues and flag them to your supervisor right away
  • Work with the Executive Steward to keep the kitchen clean and safe
  • Know our emergency procedures and safety protocols inside and out

Additional Responsibilities

  • Attend all team briefings, meetings, and training sessions
  • Support other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

What You'll Bring to the Table

  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in a similar kitchen role
  • A solid foundation in Latin American and Western cuisine—whether from formal training or real-world kitchen experience
  • Minimum Diploma-level education (culinary certifications from a reputable school are a nice bonus)
  • Fluent English—both written and spoken. Bonus points if you speak other languages or have a grasp of local dialects

Who You Are

  • A natural leader who inspires and mentors junior staff without making it feel like work
  • Someone who thrives under pressure and keeps a cool head during service rushes
  • Detail-oriented with a genuine passion for quality and food safety
  • A team player who's also a self-starter—you don't need constant direction
  • Great communicator who builds strong relationships with colleagues and guests alike
  • Always professional in appearance and demeanor, and you hold your team to the same standard
