Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Assistant Housekeeping Manager to join our hospitality team in Sepang, Malaysia. In this pivotal role, you will work alongside the Housekeeping Manager to oversee all aspects of our housekeeping department, including public areas, guestrooms, and laundry facilities. You will be instrumental in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness while leading, motivating, and developing our housekeeping team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.   • Assist the Housekeeping Manager in managing all housekeeping operations, including public areas, guestrooms, and laundry facilities to ensure consistent excellence
  • Conduct daily inspections of all public areas, guestrooms, building exteriors, and back-of-house areas to verify compliance with established cleanliness standards
  • Monitor and oversee the deep cleaning program, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality benchmarks
  • Assign tasks to housekeeping staff based on special requests and priority areas, ensuring smooth workflow and operational efficiency
  • Supervise housekeeping team members by providing clear communication, comprehensive training, coaching, and constructive performance feedback
  • Train staff members, conduct performance evaluations, address performance issues, and recommend disciplinary actions or terminations when appropriate
  • Issue supplies and inventory to staff at the beginning of each shift to maintain proper stock levels while controlling expenses
  • Manage the Lost and Found system by logging items and responding to guest inquiries to ensure accountability and guest satisfaction
  • Respond promptly to guest questions and requests, providing assistance, directions, and information with a friendly and professional demeanor
  • Ensure strict compliance with accident prevention programs, health and sanitation standards, and all relevant regulations
  • Recommend and implement procedural improvements to enhance departmental efficiency and guest satisfaction
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager or as operational needs demand

Qualifications

**Required Qualifications:**

  • Proven leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate housekeeping or hospitality teams
  • Service-focused personality with a genuine commitment to guest satisfaction and hospitality excellence
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities with meticulous attention to detail
  • Proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience with hotel property management systems such as Opera, Alice, Opera Cloud, or similar platforms
  • Physical capability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 30 lbs and to move throughout the building, bend, stoop, and reach as needed
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by operational needs
  • Ability to thrive in high-pressure, stressful situations while maintaining composure and professionalism
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with team members, guests, and stakeholders
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
  • Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, and sanitation standards compliance

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Prior experience in housekeeping management or a related hospitality management role
  • Familiarity with inventory management and cost control practices
  • Experience working in a multi-property or large-scale hospitality environment
  • Knowledge of quality assurance processes and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Certification in hospitality management or housekeeping operations (if available in your region)
