Job Description

  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety and security strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead physical security operations, including access control, surveillance systems, security staffing, and incident response.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate operational, physical, and security risks.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international safety and security regulations.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response, business continuity, and crisis management plans.
  • Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, security breaches, and workplace violence, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Oversee fire safety programs, emergency evacuation procedures, and life safety systems.
  • Manage security technologies, including CCTV, intrusion detection systems, visitor management, and access control systems.
  • Coordinate with law enforcement, emergency services, regulatory agencies, and external security providers.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, contracts, and procurement of safety and security equipment and services.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly report on safety and security performance to executive leadership.
  • Lead safety committees and conduct regular audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
  • Develop and deliver safety and security training programs for employees and contractors.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through awareness campaigns and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate safety and security personnel.

Qualifications

  • Certified Protection Professional (CPP)
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  • Occupational Health and Safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH)
  • Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP)
  • First Aid/CPR and Incident Command System (ICS) training

Additional Information

experience is an asset
Prior experience working with Opera or a related system
Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
Fluency in English, additional languages are a plus
