Job Description
As the People & Culture Manager at Hyde Perth, you’ll be the heartbeat of our team – we are looking for someone who is hands-on, operational, enjoys being close to the business, and brings a positive, can-do attitude. Strong execution, attention to detail, and the ability to build great relationships with leaders and teams are key to the success of this role. We are continuing to shape a culture that’s as vibrant, inclusive, and dynamic as the brand itself. This is more than an HR role; it’s about building an environment where individuality is celebrated, creativity is nurtured, and every team member feels empowered to be their best.
You’ll play a pivotal role in setting the tone from day one and helping to attract, develop, and retain top talent who live and breathe the Hyde vibe. If you’re passionate about people, purpose, and progressive hospitality, and you’ve got the vision to bring culture to life, this is your stage.
- Champion Hyde’s people-first culture, ensuring our values are felt and lived throughout the property.
- Lead the full employee lifecycle – from recruitment and onboarding to training, development, and career progression.
- Be a culture architect: embed Hyde’s unique identity and values in every team experience, interaction, and touchpoint.
- Build a diverse, inclusive, and high-performing team that reflects the creativity and spirit of Hyde.
- Provide strategic guidance to the leadership team on labour planning, workforce strategy, and people operations.
- Partner with department heads to ensure all team members are engaged, motivated, and aligned with business goals.
- Drive learning and development programs that fuel growth, creativity, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Manage performance management processes with empathy and transparency, championing feedback, and accountability.
- Ensure compliance with all local employment laws and regulations.
- Oversee wellbeing, recognition, and reward programs that genuinely connect with and support our team.
- Lead the property’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion efforts – from planning activations to driving awareness and advocacy.
- Function as a trusted advisor and advocate for our people, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and empowering workplace for all.
Qualifications
- 5–7 years of progressive HR or People & Culture experience, with at least 2+ years in a leadership role, ideally within hospitality, lifestyle, or creative industries.
- A hands-on people leader with a deep understanding of the Hospitality Industry General Award and Australian employment law.
- A true cultural ambassador – you lead with empathy, celebrate individuality, and inspire connection.
- You are passionate about building strong teams, supporting career growth, and driving business results through people.
- You bring creative solutions to people challenges and approach every situation with integrity and optimism.
- You are confident, collaborative, and comfortable challenging the norm in the best way possible.
- You are naturally curious, globally minded, and deeply rooted in community and connection.
- Your humble and open to ideas. We leave our egos at the door and help get it done.
- You are up for doing things differently and trying (almost) everything once.
- You want to be part of something bigger and have fun along the way.
