Job Description

 

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute banquet events and functions in accordance with client requirements and organisational standards
  • Manage all aspects of event logistics, including venue setup, equipment allocation, and technical arrangements
  • Supervise and direct banquet staff to ensure seamless service delivery and adherence to quality standards
  • Liaise with clients to understand event objectives, preferences, and special requirements, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate with culinary and kitchen teams to coordinate menu planning, food preparation, and presentation
  • Monitor and manage banquet budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness whilst maintaining service excellence
  • Oversee vendor relationships and coordinate with external suppliers for catering, décor, and entertainment services
  • Conduct pre-event briefings and post-event debriefs with team members to optimise performance and identify improvement opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations throughout all banquet operations
  • Handle guest concerns and resolve issues promptly and professionally to maintain the hotel's reputation
  • Maintain detailed records of events, including contracts, timelines, and client feedback for future reference
  • Develop and implement strategies to maximise revenue and occupancy for banquet facilities
  • Train and mentor banquet staff on service protocols, product knowledge, and customer engagement techniques
  • Conduct regular inspections of banquet areas, equipment, and facilities to maintain high standards of cleanliness and functionality

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum 6-8 years of experience in banquet management, event coordination, or hospitality operations
  • Proven track record of successfully planning and executing large-scale events and functions
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations, catering standards, and service protocols
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously
  • Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and control costs effectively
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities with experience supervising diverse staff
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-centric approach
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene regulations relevant to food service and hospitality
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, or Events Management
  • Certification in Food Safety and Hygiene or equivalent qualification
  • Experience working in a luxury hotel environment or five-star establishment
  • Proficiency in multiple languages, particularly Hindi or other regional languages
  • Experience with revenue management and yield optimisation strategies
