Job Description

The Navina Pool Bar Server is responsible for delivering attentive, personalized, and seamless food and beverage service to guests, creating an exceptional and memorable poolside experience in line with the hotel's luxury service standards.

The role is responsible for welcoming guests, presenting menu offerings, taking and serving food and beverage orders, and responding promptly and professionally to individual guest preferences and requests. With a strong knowledge of beverages, cocktails and menu selections, the Navina Pool Bar Server provides thoughtful recommendations and promotes the hotel's offerings while ensuring accurate and efficient service.

Working closely with the Food & Beverage and Culinary teams, the Navina Pool Bar Server ensures the pool bar and service areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and organization. Through genuine engagement, attention to detail, and anticipation of guest needs, the position plays an important role in creating distinctive experiences and upholding the exceptional service standards of the hotel.

Qualifications

  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A diploma or relevant qualification in Hospitality, Food & Beverage Service, or a related field will be an advantage.
     
  • Experience: Previous experience as a Server or in a similar Food & Beverage service role is preferred. Experience in a five-star luxury hotel, upscale restaurant, pool bar, or international hospitality environment will be an advantage.
     
  • Food & Beverage Knowledge: Good knowledge of food and beverage service, including cocktails, wines, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages. An understanding of beverage presentation, appropriate glassware, and service standards is preferred.
     
  • Guest Service Skills: Demonstrates a genuine passion for hospitality, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deliver attentive, personalized, and intuitive service to guests.
     
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills, with the confidence and professionalism to engage with guests from diverse cultural backgrounds and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
     
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in order taking, service delivery, and the presentation of food, beverages, and the poolside service area.
     
  • Time Management and Organization: Able to manage multiple guest requests and service priorities efficiently while maintaining composure and service excellence in a dynamic environment.
     
  • Teamwork: A collaborative team player who works effectively with Food & Beverage, Culinary, and other hotel colleagues to ensure a seamless guest experience.
     
  • Health and Safety: Good understanding of food hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety practices, with a commitment to maintaining the hotel's health and safety standards.
     
  • Physical Requirements: Able to work in an outdoor poolside environment, remain standing for extended periods, and perform the physical duties required for food and beverage service.
  • Professional Presentation: Maintains a polished and professional appearance and demonstrates the grooming, conduct, and service standards expected within a five-star luxury hotel environment.
