Job Description
We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Raffles Dubai as our new Ken Fix-It Technician responsible for carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance of guestrooms to ensure all facilities, equipment, and fixtures are maintained in excellent operating condition and in accordance with hotel quality, safety, and brand standards. The role requires a multi-skilled technician capable of performing civil, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general maintenance works while ensuring minimal disruption to hotel operations and guest satisfaction. This position reports to Engineering Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PPM) of guestrooms in accordance with the approved maintenance programme.
- Perform multi-skilled maintenance including civil, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and minor furniture repairs.
- Carry out repairs such as grouting, silicone replacement, paint touch-ups, door hardware adjustments, furniture touch-ups, plumbing fixture repairs, electrical troubleshooting, Guest Room Management Systems (GRMS) device troubleshooting, curtain systems, Fun Coil Unit (FCU) servicing, filter replacement, actuator replacement, chilled water condensation flushing, and other guestroom maintenance activities.
- Inspect guestrooms thoroughly during PPM and identify defects requiring corrective action.
- Ensure all maintenance work is completed to a high standard with quality workmanship and attention to detail.
- Complete maintenance records accurately and update work orders upon completion.
- Ensure all tools, materials, and spare parts are available before commencing work and maintain good housekeeping after completing tasks.
- Report recurring defects, equipment failures, or major repairs requiring specialist intervention.
- Comply with all hotel health, safety, environmental, and engineering procedures while maintaining a professional appearance in guest areas.
- Support other engineering team members and perform additional duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager.
Qualifications

Education, Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Trade Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, Air Conditioning, Building Maintenance, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in hotel engineering or facilities maintenance, preferably within a luxury hotel environment.
- Good command of written and spoken English.

Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of guestroom preventive maintenance across civil, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry disciplines.
- Working knowledge of Guest Room Management Systems (GRMS) and hotel room equipment.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good communication, teamwork, and time management skills.
- Safety-conscious with a proactive and guest-focused attitude.
