Job Description
**Responsibilities:** - Greet and welcome guests with a warm, professional demeanor upon arrival - Manage the reservation system and maintain an accurate seating chart - Seat guests promptly and ensure optimal table assignments based on party size and preferences - Provide guests with menus and communicate current specials or promotions
- Monitor dining room flow and coordinate with service staff to ensure efficient table turnover - Answer guest inquiries regarding menu items, wait times, and restaurant policies - Handle guest complaints or concerns with professionalism and escalate to management when necessary - Maintain a clean and organized host stand, including reservation books and guest lists
- Answer incoming phone calls and take reservations with accuracy and courtesy - Assist with guest coat check and departure procedures - Collaborate with kitchen and service teams to optimise guest experience - Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation standards at all times - Perform additional duties as assigned by management to support restaurant operations
Qualifications
**Qualifications:** **Required:** - High school diploma or equivalent - Proven experience as a Host/Hostess in a restaurant or hospitality setting (minimum 1 year preferred) - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Proficiency with reservation management systems and point-of-sale (POS) software
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities - Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment - Physical ability to stand for extended periods and move throughout the dining room - Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed - Knowledge of basic health, safety, and sanitation standards **Preferred:**
- Experience in an upscale or fine dining establishment - Familiarity with restaurant operations and service standards - Bilingual capabilities - Certification in food safety or hospitality customer service - Experience with guest management software or reservation platforms - Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills - Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
