Job Description
JOB OVERVIEW:
Under the general guidance of the Assistant Bar Manager, the Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests. This role involves maintaining a clean and organized bar area, ensuring the quality and consistency of drinks, managing inventory, and providing exceptional customer service to enhance the guest experience.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to drink recipes and customer preferences.
- Garnish drinks to enhance presentation and flavor.
- Take beverage orders from patrons, process food orders, and coordinate with the wait staff to ensure smooth service.
- Create and suggest specials from the drink menu to boost sales and enhance the customer experience.
- Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of the bar area, ensuring all glassware is clean and ready for use.
- Maintain and manage bar inventory, restocking items as needed throughout the shift.
- Operate the POS (point-of-sale) system and cash register for processing payments quickly and accurately.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including completing inventory checks and cleaning tasks.
- Adhere to safety and hygiene regulations to maintain a safe work environment for both staff and patrons.
- Ensure customers meet the legal drinking age by checking IDs before serving alcohol.
- Handle customer complaints or issues promptly, maintaining a pleasant and professional demeanor.
- Work closely with other team members, including the barback and wait staff, to ensure smooth operations and a cohesive teamwork dynamic.
- Any other reasonable duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

- We will on occasion call for each individual in the team to, on a routine basis perform various related tasks as needed in the spirit of providing exceptional guest service.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
ServSafe/TIPS Certificate
One to three years bartending experience required in a hotel or lounge setting.
Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
Additional language ability preferred.
All team members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. Specific department uniform guidelines and/or required articles of clothing will be explained to you by your supervisor.
