An exciting opportunity has become available for a skilled and motivated Duty Technician to join our experienced Engineering Team, playing a key role in maintaining the presentation, safety, and operational excellence of both properties.
Job Description
We are seeking a Casual Demi Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team in Sydney, Australia. As a Demi Chef, you will work alongside our culinary team to prepare high-quality dishes whilst maintaining the highest standards of food safety and presentation. This casual position offers flexibility and the opportunity to develop your culinary skills in a fast-paced, professional kitchen environment.
- Prepare and cook dishes according to established recipes and culinary standards under the guidance of the head chef
- Maintain impeccable kitchen hygiene and food safety protocols at all times
- Organise and manage mise en place to ensure efficient kitchen operations
- Assist with food presentation and plating to meet organisational standards
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen team members to support service delivery
- Manage inventory awareness and contribute to stock control procedures
- Maintain and care for kitchen equipment and workspace cleanliness
- Support menu development initiatives and contribute creative culinary ideas
- Adapt to changing priorities and work efficiently during peak service periods
- Comply with all health, safety, and food handling regulations
Qualifications
- Proven culinary training or equivalent practical kitchen experience
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
- Proficiency in knife skills and fundamental cooking techniques
- Solid understanding of kitchen operations and workflow
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities
- Strong people skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Physical stamina and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility and adaptability to casual working arrangements
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality food preparation
- Desirable: Food handling certification or equivalent qualification
- Desirable: Experience in A la carte dining, hotel operations, banquets, fine dining or specialised cuisine
- Desirable: Knowledge of dietary requirements and allergen awareness
